Hi all

I'd like to add a border to my photos in Photoshop, I have done it by selecting all, copy, new, add a few digits to make it bigger, move the photo to the new background I just made, close the original photo and save the one with the now border as the original one. This is a long process and I'm sure there's an easier way, would anyone tell me how?

Thanks
Le'lani

Goto image size, reduce it by X amount of pixels, then increase Canvas size making sure you select either black or white as the background colour.

Tutorial here; Borders and Text

just add a little extra canvas - Image > canvas size > set to what you want.

too slow....

Sounds exactly like what I used to do! If you want to have that extra little line to separate the border from the picture, you can..

select all
edit -> stroke (1 px, color of your choice)
then enlarge the canvas size

Or you can do a really boring border like this.
