Some lucky bastard goes on vacation to Germany and finds a Canon 5D with an L lens sitting in a bush. He left his email addy there in case the loser wants to claim it. His brother posted in this thread:

//www.tfnn.net/forum/index.php?topic=14880.0

No one has claimed it yet.

Leave a 5D and L lens lying in a bush? How in the world.....no, never mind, I DON'T wanna know. He doesn't deserve to get it back.

lol. Now I'm wondering who at DPC shoots while totally wasted. Maybe some of the ribbon winning photos were produced that way? :P

ETA: Ok, Art's a given so don't even post! :P

It had to be stolen from whomever and then ditched in the bush... HAD TO! Or left by a voyeur with really good equipment.

If he REALLY wanted to find the owner I bet he could do it with the serial number.

Posting the find on some obscure website probably helps relieve his conscience - but really, with all the sites on the internet what are te odds it's going to be effective at all.

who knows what the actual circumstances were that the camera was lost - let's be real, the photographer didn't just "forget" his camera in a bush. How ecstatic would you be if someone tracked you down and gave you back your camera? Some things money can't buy.

I didn't get the impression that he was actually trying to find the real owner or he might have been more specific than "in a bush in Germany." If you "forget" your camera in a bush because you're too busy concentrating on the spoon and needle, then I say tough luck to you. But I'd have to agree with previous posters who said that the chances are good that the camera had already been stolen at that point, which is unfortunate.

yea, that's what I find more tragic than actually losing the camera. This is the kind of thing that makes bitter, cynical people.
