Excellent idea. If he went on vacation, he probably had his mail and paper held.

...and bump...

Thanks, mk.

Still racking my brain... Do you know where he gets his car serviced? Perhaps it needed work and he went on assignment with a friend/acquaintance/colleague?

Yeah true, but I usually get a neighbor to get my stuff.

Maybe one of his neighbors knows something....I dont know.
Fingers are crossed it all works out.

I just added stdavidson to all my IM's and one just came online through Yahoo. I asked if it was Steve and they said no... Just checked the profile. Turned out to be a Scott.

Dang.

I keep coming back to this thread hoping to see a reply from Steve saying he's ok. You all are amazing for the work you are doing to find him.

Out here in LA we have CMS - "changeable message signs" along the freeway at different intervals. One of their functions is an "Amber Alert" where they post quick messages something like "Child Abduction, Green Toyota Camry, plate: xxxxxx". Does Phoenix have something like that? If they do, maybe they could put a missing person message up there with his name and car info?

Another thought, does the border crossings into Mexico log every vehicle?

Keep up the great work everybody, hopefully he is ok somewhere.

Actually they do log plates going across the border.

I keep hoping to hear from him too. With the 2 serial killers on the loose in the area...

I'm really, really trying to stay positive though. I'm sure he'll turn up and be pissed that we all made such a huge deal out of this.

Wow people, you are so amazing I am feeling so lucky to start being part of this community... I hope he is ok, and will be coming back to this tread to see how is it going...

I just talked to Barbara. She hasn't heard from him either. We are on the other side of town though. I don't know how much help we are going to be.

Well I've been following this but haven't chimed in. I just hope he took a "couldn't pass it up" vacation. Here's hoping all is ok Steve.

Yes there are two serial killers in the area, but one targets women only and the other randomly shoots people, mostly people walking the streets or ridding a bike at night. Neither are a threat to Steve and would not explain why his car is gone. Just to clear that up.

Other notes, not sure what I may have posted already:
For reasons I won't post, I doubt he went on a extended vacation.

Tomorrow the case will be taken over by a full time missing persons specialist whom I've already talked to.

Steve's son and sister arrive in town tomorrow, we should be able to inspect his house.

We may have managed to get him on one of the local news stations tonight. I'm sure tomorrow we'll get him on all the local stations with the help of the missing persons specialist.

Last confirmed sighting is now 7/23.

Forest Service is on the look out for his car. I sent them a list of places I thought he might have gone.

Thanks everyone for your concern, thoughts, prayers and help. Hopefully tomorrow is a good day.

Daryl, will you be there when they go in? Hopefully, that will give SOME answer. Maybe they can turn on his computer and see if there is any email or something that will give some clue (assuming his password is saved).

Also check his browser history -- in particular see if he's gone to any mapping sites recently, and if his history shows any hint that he's printed directions to anywhere.

That's a great idea- but I think my browser only saves sites I type in. This is driving me insane!

I think you're probably thinking of the url dropdown box at the top. History is something different and saves every site you visit, although it can be purged if set to do so.

Man, I just seen this thread tonight. I hope everything is ok. I have tried reading every post but I may have missed a few.

Did he mention to anyone he was going on a trip and just not return? or was there no conversation about going any where and he went missing?
