ENFJ
Extroverted - 11
Intuitive - 12
Feeling - 62
Judging - 33

Apparently I am -
- slightly expressed extrovert
- slightly expressed intuitive personality
- distinctively expressed feeling personality
- moderately expressed judging personality

It seems BradP and I have something in common!

Why does this not surprise me.

Actually, when I saw your name attached in this thread, I felt like parent peeking around a wall slowly, with a cringed look, waiting to see what the kids got into now, and what that crash was...

I cannot remember my profile (except that it was borderline and about seven categories could have described me more or less accurately). It appears to me to be utterly useless.

Unless I am missing something, it simply consists of me answering questions explaining how I react to the world, then the examiner reading back a partial summary of what I have just said, then pigeonholing me into an unsophisticated category.

Has anyone ever found a vaguely practical use for this beyond minor amusement?

Don't some employers use it for recruiting purposes?

My team leader at work liked to have each member of the team do it.

INFP (about 4-5% of the population) - I've taken the assessment 2 or 3 times and it came out the same every time. I definitely see myself in the descriptions. (Open-minded, idealistic, insightful, flexible, want to contribute to something that matters - need to work on tough-mindedness and action plans(or organizing photos)) The sense of wonder mentioned in another description is something that applies to my photography. I'll often comment on something cool that I notice when I'm out - with a camera in my hand I'll take a picture of it. The "N" is strongest for me, which I think helps my critical eye. What would make this a better picture?

Hmmm... I'm a borderline ISTJ/INTJ according to the last one of those I did. Sounds about right! :o)

I'm INTJ, and boy does it fit. :-)

Neat test, I'd never seen this before.

The reason I was given for doing it was that when setting up a team, it would be helpful to know who would be best at what, and who would work well together. So perhaps some people do use it for choosing who to employ (scary though that is, and potentially of questionable legality).

However, why we should need a test to determine, say, whether or not to give organisational tasks to someone who is disorganised, or to determine who will get on with whom, when they can talk for 5 minutes and you can find out the real answer, is beyond me.

It also assumes that people are static, unable to adapt, or that they will not work to overcome their shortcomings. It seems to me to be the lazy way out: one is diagnosed as, say, disorganised, and therefore always has the excuse without ever having to try and remedy the situation if it is required.

I would still be interested to know if anyone has ever managed to use the test results, or whether their test results have been used for anything.

intersting stuff, and it does seem to apply to me, but, people using it for hiring practices? just scary...

PS - I am ESTP, according to the quick test (though on the full test I was scoring along borderlines all over the place).

ENTP and I love this last part of the description on the test I took:
"Careers which respect these traits include photography, writing, engineering, computer sciences, research sciences, entertainment and law." (since these are the areas I enjoy the most...)
