slogan needed for student body officer!!!

I am running for 8th grade student body at my school, I am having a hard time coming up with a clever but original slogan. If any of you have ideas that would be great.

If you want us to propose a campaign slogan, we need to know something about your "platform", where you stand on an issue or issues of importance in your school. Assuming this student body council isn't just a popularity contest, anyway... And if it IS a popularity contest, and you're not a member of the in-group, then maybe that should be your platform right there; that you represent the "rest" of the people, not the clique.

So give us some info, Megan? Absent any other info, based on your user name, how about "Vote MEGAN: She's one crazy chick!"

Thanks for the advice. i definantly think that one of my huge porposes is to let people know that it isn't a popularity contest, and that I want to bring the school together so that there isn't the "in" group and the "others".

Is this an issue at your school? Do the mass of students feel they are not represented by the council? Is the council currently composed of the popular clique? Or is it representative of other factions? Does the council make decisions that most of the students feel are poorly-based? Etc, etc. IN other words, what's the situation and what would you DO about it if elected?

I remember being in 8th grade and wanting to run for student body. In my school, it was all about popularity, which is why the same people were elected every year. I really hope that you're able to get in and represent the rest!

Bear's advice is (as usual) spot on. While the other contenders for the council are making promises that they will never be able to keep (less homework, candy machines, etc.) you should think about what changes you really want to make, and what ones you think you can make.

And for what it's worth, I sorta' like the crazy chick slogan. It's different, and if you can get people to laugh, they'll notice and remember.

well the people who are elected don't do anything, because people think its a popularity contest. And one of the reasons im running is to actually do something for a change.

But what would that BE? We need specifics, not generalities. Come up with a list of things that Student Council OUGHT to do and has the POWER to do and is NOT doing, and you're in business...

Dealing in generalities is kinda' fuzzy. People will respond better if you can tell them exactly what you have in mind. If you say, "we'll do fun activities" you may get some attention. If you say, "I'm going to try to organzie a end of year dance/carnival/whatever", you'll probably get much more interest (and likely more support from people with ideas who want to help).

-Always a good thing, why do they need an example though? Is there something wrong with the current way they are doing things? What will you show them with your example?

Just some stuff to think about. Sounds like you're on the right track but those are some questions you might want to think about to enhance your platform. People respond more to specifics than generalities.

If it's a popularity contest and you aren't the most popular one you need to convince the voters why they should vote for you instead of their "friend".

When i ran for president for 8th grade 2 years ago my posters had a picture of me pointing at the camera and it said "i want u to vote for me for student president" Then I Gave the most kick ass speech ever...I started out in a suit and startted stuttering my speech, said "screw this" tore off my suit and was wearing to reveal a shirt that said "vote shimm" (shimm is my last name), said that I wasent going to prommess anythig that i coudlent get like more money for school, and better lunches, and since i am a techie started to get some "rocky" music playing, and by the end, the entire school was on there feet. Then the other kid gave a lame ass speech, said he was going to get us a new principal, and won....because....no matter what you say, IT IS A POPULARITY CONTEST (and the kids boyfriend stole all the ballets and changed a bunch of them)
