Out of my ingnorance, How much does the Pro course cost?
03/05/2008 01:05:10 PM · #102
surprisingly little... I believe I paid $850 ish...(becuase i'm outside the US I have to pay a bit extra for the shipping of everything) you pay a bit more if you do their monthly plan (administration fees etc.)

but for a full course on anything, that's pretty good.

Whenever I see this thread, I have to say something about the NYIP. They are great people. DVDs are very informative, teachers are very nice. Once you get your tape back from your teacher, it's like sitting in a classroom. He or she actually calls your name and tells you what is good or bad with your photo assignments.

very cool :)

I paid in full (haha - with my normal school financial aid) and am in the US, so $648 or something right around there.

That's definatly a good thing.... Since I started I've been shooting almost exclusively Manual.. mostly for the practice... now I just want unit 2 to role my way

I signed up for NYIP back in 1997. I turned in a few assignments then my camera broke and I couldn't afford to get it fixed ( I still think I was sold a lemon!) Anywho, I've been tossing the idea back and forth to sign up again. Is it very expensive now?

not overly.. don't know what you paid then but I paid about $900 all told (including extra because I live outside of the states.)

But what about the content of the professional course? I read other reviews saying that it was a bit old. I understand NYIP have updated from tapes to CDs,but I would like to hear of anyone who took the course recently and could tell me about the content of it. Does it cover digital a lot as my camera is a digital one, I do not have a film one.
Thank you. I still haven't made up my mind as to sign up for the course or not.

I am currently enrolled in NYIP. I only use digital, I have just mailed my first project into them for review. The first section which I have completed I can tell you is quiet impressive. The information so far applies both to Digital and Traditional Film Cameras. The course is on CD's, and DVD as well as in print. Again, I have just completed the first section, but as of today, I am still happy with my decision to take their course.

How much $ is the Photoshop full version and how much is the student discount.
09/10/2009 02:39:27 PM · #118
Hi!!! i am considering to enroll on NYIP since I have seen most of the people are satisfied with their complete course. Please can anyone tell me how it has been so far? If the lessons are simple or difficult? Or how long does it took someone to finish all the units? Ive heard its a year or so but please I will apreciate it !!!

Another important thing: I have no experience on photography, besides my common digital camera but I ve realized I would love to make it as a professional. Does anyone think this course would work or I need some experience first?

THANK YOU SO MUCH

P.s. Excuse my english, im from outside the states, so im practicing it too :-P

Old post, but since no replied, I'll point out -- no one accepts NYIP credentials for Adobe Student discounts.

I'm doing freelance work here, shooting almost everything.. and I want to improve.. I've seen the works of students and I'm thinking of enrolling.. I know it's cheaper if I pay in full but If I pay in full it would take a while for me to save up for that much, I can sort of make enough for the monthly plan though and can start ASAP.. which do you think it's better? btw.. I'm living outside the US.
