How about a free study - perhaps a 72 hour challenge?
make it interesting - basic editing and open?
make the people cry - rollover at noon not midnight!

A free study, but we don't need a month to do it.

How about a Free Study for non-members?

Yes before the WPL starts. Actually having a Free Study for registered users is not a bad idea either ;) Make it advanced editing ;)

Why become a member then? And a free-study without advanced editing is worthless.

Well, I just thought it would give the rest of us a taste of what it would be like and hopefully "convert" us into members ;)

I just lurk around and see what's going on but something like this would be awesome ;)

Just a thought anyway.

You get a taste. It's called "open challenges." :P

but we hardly have advanced editing like you guys :P

Another incentive for paid membership.

Become a member. A free study for non-members will have far too many entries.

The last free study for members had far too many entries. I like the 72 hr idea.

How about a Free Study with no editing, or very strictly limited editing? Just the very basic techniques - rotate, WB, contrast, saturation, and resize. No cloneing, no D&B, no Neat Image, etc. Give us a month to learn to use our cameras to their best advantage and discover what we can do without relying on extensive post processing.

I used to suggest for this, but realize some people are totally against the idea, for whatever reasons (but they usually tells you that because film people do it in darkrooms, then it is something that must be adhered to for all photographers, doh)

anyway, I'm in for the Free Study suggestion. Lets do it already!

I'll be out at sea over the weekends - disconnected from civilization, so please, if the Free Study is going to be 72 hours, please announce it before Friday noon! :p

And how about this challenge description?

Free Study (with a twist): Creatively shoot anything EXCEPT an object intended to hold a liquid; NO wineglasses, NO martini glasses, NO water glasses or tumblers, NO glass vases, you get the idea...

*ducks and runs*

What about a free study in reverse. Enter a photo you've taken in the PAST 30 days. There are times I've got a great photo that doesn't fit into a challenge.
