My dog Randi, my entry for the cliche challenge, passed away today at the age of 13 years.

He was the family's cherished companion for all his life. After my mom had a heart transplant and was not able to leave the house, he stayed with her every where she went. It has just hit everyone very hard...

I'm sharing a quick edit of one of my favorite shots I took of him (the original PSD is backed up somewhere)

damn, I hate that stuff. My best buddy in the world was an australian cattle dog named Max. He was attached to my heal every second of his life. He was gift from my wife after we had been dating for a month. He was there through our engagement, marriage, and our 15th anniversary. He lived to be 16. Aussies hold the dog longevity record of 28 years 3 months, so Max died young. About 2 years before he died we got another cattle dog named Coy. He helped the devastation of losing Max. We recently adopted a 8 year old blue cattle dog named Dingo that is Max reincarnated...

As long as you remember Randi, he will never be gone. I gotta go cry for a while now... Sorry...

Also sorry to hear about your loss. It's hard - and lots of dpc'ers have been losing animals lately. It's no good. :(

Good picture. Good memories.

I am also sorry to hear of your loss. I have lost many pets in my time. I know how hard it can be especially when they are as adorable as yours was. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. our pets become our family and as such are morned almost the same. Folks without pets usualy don't understand. you are not alone.

I would like to add my understanding for your loss. There is nothing quite so hard because where else do we get unconditional love...and where else are we capable of giving it. My sympathy and what a lovely image to have. Anne

So, so sorry for you and your family. We, too, know how hard this can be. Press forward, and take comfort in the knowledge that your DPC community mourns with you. It will get easier.
