I was hoping so I could give graphicfunk another ribbon on his idea. Oh well.

Just placing 10th with this one (at the time, I think a DQ gave it 9th or something), was amazing given the challenge (Nude III), but as it was my first ever 7+ score, I was hoping like hell it'd ribbon.

It didn't, of course, but it is honored to be in some fine company

I think that I am too close to the subject of this shot to be objective. However, I did not expect such a low placing (3.98, 5%). Now, I didn't expect a ribbon, either.

Sure, it's over-processed. That was kinda the point, yah know?

The main reason will be that the majority of members of this site have a strong preference against digital art. As digital art goes it's a nice piece of work and would probably score well in an appropriate challenge on an appropriate site but it's not surprising it didn't do well here.

Don't let yourself assume that a low score on this site means that an image is without worth. It means only that it's not highly valued in THIS CONTEXT.

In any other challenge this would have done a million times better, I think, but the quality of entries was incredibly high on the Self Portrait challenge.

I was really hoping for a ribbon on this one, and with most Basic challenges, this score would have ribboned, but alas, the heavy hitters were all entered. I am very pleased with the shot still.

I don´t want to overestimate this or to show too much self-righteousness but I had high hopes for my Tribute entry, Picassco Jr., because most of the time it was close to 7. It is common during the last 24 hours or so to gain some points so it was looking good... but surprisingly during the last hours it fell down to 6.7. But I´m still very fond of it.

I thought this would, it was at 7+ during most the voting.

Almost squeaked in with this for "Children's Toy" (it got fifth). I was hoping for more. :)

My "Negative" entry didn't even come close, but I sure thought it'd do better, and was even daring to hope for a ribbon. Nada.

Really thought I had it with this one...

Just "Take your best photograph after the sun goes down" ??

Or not. Sigh. Take your best picture that looks like it was taken after the sun goes down is what they should have said. Well, I should have known, I was just too caught up in my own creative process..

I just had another look at this one. It's fantastic and very underated.

Granted.

I still like it. I know that's what matters. The tough part with this photo - anything that is close to your heart, really - is judging how other's will react. It's best not to think about it, and go on.

With 19 Fav's, 56 comments and 1003 views during the voting period, I expected this one to score a LOT higher than it did. Granted these are my children, so I am completely biased, and many may consider this just a "snapshot" - you can't capture a more Norman Rockwell moment than this! (IMMHO - In My Most "Humble" Opinion) :-)

I have 4 (four!) 7+ entries, and none (none!) of them ribboned, but the most deserved IMHO was this one

Based on the effort and money put in a shot, this one should've ribboned

but alas...

There were quite a few voters I felt like bitch-slapping over this one... LOL

I felt like bitch slapping you for the picture, so we're even. But, you know I love ya!

I would say it should have got a higher score? But what do I know I suck therefor I am. You got slammed by the 1's, I think they are an evil group out to get us all.
