One of the DPC'ers posted this in the "how are you feeling" thread and I thought I just had to share it as a new thread.
Definately makes me think twice before I want to complain about simple everyday stuff again.
This little girl is SO brave - and look at her smile - AFTER ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED TO HER.

Sophie's story is just unbelievable, god bless all those people in the world who have spent the time to read and understand her traumatic life, say a little pray for her and her parents.
When ever you feel down with your lot …think of little Sophie who is back in hospital once again. Life wasn’t meant to easy.

As a little girl that age you are not suppose to have pain or worries. If I ever had a choice to take pain like this to prevent my own daughter from having to go through it, I will do it - anytime.
Children are suppose to play and run around and break atuff and do silly things so that Daddy can use his camera - they are not suppose to be in hospital, fighting for their life.
What is bad for me is that their are "plans" to change the crossing to a robot...What plans? How long has there been plans? Did the plans prevent the pain and suffering? Did the driver of the car know about these plans? Did the plans stop his car?

This was Sophie2 years ago now she has sufferd another terrrible roadside accident.
This little girl is made of the right suff and is already fighting back after another horrific accident.

Australia seems to have the same problem that the United States has. Renewal of a driver's license is too easy. There are many horrific accidents in the US involving old drivers who are in no condition to be driving cars.

I know I will offer a prayer for this courageous child, and think twice about complaining about the small things in life that I find annoying. We can all learn from the courage displayed by this little girl... it is indeed quite inspiring.

I thought Sophie might find it supportive if her tragedy could be used to put a spotlight on the problem that caused it, and help prevent it from happening again.

I understand. Just didn't want it to become a railing point about this group of drivers or that group.
