Given the average pre-schooler in play mode, I'd say around 95 decibles. Get your earplugs ready.

You mean there's no noise-reduction built-in??? OMG

I'd love one of those for my kids, just a shame the res is so poor - 640x480. Surely can't be that difficult to put a 3 megapixel chip in these days.

Gee, I just had my picture taken by a 3 year-old using a an Olympus Camedia something-or-other. She quite happily fetched the camera, turned it on and went from view mode to picture mode. And the camera doesn't look like a toy... ;-)

Yeah, we have several photos our 3-year old took with the 20D and the 50mm on it. Its a really different perspective but she loves using it. I guess something she could be rugged with and not having me watching to see if she drops it might be a fun idea where we both get something useful out of it.

wow, very nice. I hope it gets on dpreview soon.

If they put in a better sensor, they'd need a better lens, beter focusing, etc.

The interesting thing is that its made for use with both eyes -- it has two viewfinders, and two handgrips.

$70?

I like the preview screen but the resolution...yuk. Even 2Mp should be doable at this price.

I'd get one for my son (as his cheapie from xmas got dropped too much) but the price...$40 maybe, but $70?

Looks to be a significant upgrade to this one:

Does it output exif data?
We could have a Fisher-Price only challenge.

Pretty sweet, I see my upgrade path. So, does it use L glass?
05/05/2006 04:34:18 PM · #18
Ow I love it...!

I think I'm gonna need one for my little niece, she's 3 years old
05/05/2006 04:43:28 PM · #19
Seriously though, I WANT one of the two-eye viewfinders. That would be sweet.

I was very serious too.

Well, that settles it.. I've been looking for a good P&S with style for awhile... and now I see that I must have pink.

Must.. have.. pink.

I'll be taken seriously NOW dammit.

When I read the thread title, I thought this was going to be another "I'm getting a 30D post" lol... I would have loved to have one of thes kid-cameras as a child. Would certainly have beat my crappy etch-a-sketch lol
