ALERT! DPCHALLENGE.COM refuses to relinquish the hosting of an image that I own, and own the copyright to. They have refused multiple times to remove this image contrary to my requests. BEWARE! You will no longer have control over your images once you upload them to this website and enter them into a challenge.

I must take legal action, but even then I am not guranteed that they will delete my image from their servers. They claim that they cannot delete it, but this is certainly not the case; somebody has root access to the directory holding the image, they won't do it for whatever reason.

What Beetle said.

I will also say that, as you have been told, the picture is not visible but remains to insure the integrity of the challenges. You agreed to the Terms of Service when you signed up, and this issue was explicitly dealt with. Just because now you don't agree with the ToS does not change anything.

Also, as you have been told, the SC does not have access to the directory you refer to. That is a privilege of the owners only, Drew and Langdon.

The terms and service make no mention to this site holding my images without my permission. You need to read this yourself...

Those sons of fascist lunatics!!
I'll make them pay...oh yes. Mark my words, they'll pay!

I just KNEW something fishy was going on at the Global DPC headquarters. I never, ever trust corporate conglomerates like DPC. There is no heart or soul. Just a bottom line. They're probably cooking the books too...

What about the Little Man, DPC?

If they try to do ANYTHING with my crappy pictures (and I know they will try), I'll throttle them. Yes, that's a threat.

This is a frickin' hostage situation, people! Those images are being held against their free will!

I never liked this place to begin with. I'm with YOU, lfordhere.

It's awfully early in your dpchallenge lifecycle to be alienating everyone and coming off as a complete ass.

"perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free"

I'd say that about covers it.

Well, then this is my writing to revoke the terms of service that I have agreed to, which is allowed by said terms of service, WHICH, I might add, means that this image, along with all of my other images, must be removed from this servers immediately.

Why in his profile does it show where he has posted yet there are no postings by him?

But the terms of service itself is revocable, and though i have requested it, they still won't remove the image.

Wow, pretty energetic for an 85 year old guy ;). I believe we have been told that DPC will never use or allow archived or submitted photos to be used knowingly? If it is invisible and no-one can copy it what is the issue. If it ever shows up somewhere with a copy date or after the "cloaking" then you may have action if you can show it came from dpc in any manner. With upwards of 1000 submitted challenge photos and thousands more every week, can image the job trying to make everyone happy. I do believe that the photog should have the option to "hide" any of their photos at any time. Integrity of old challenges ... well who cares, just too many submissions to do what you and a number of others have done. I believe if you resign all your photos will be hidden except for ribbon winners and then it's just the rules that we agreed too. Maybe not correct but we agreed.

You submitted the image under the pretenses of the terms of service, which means that the image is bound by that. Your 'revoking' of the terms of service for you personally does not affect that image, just your account.

This doesn't apply if you have an average vote cast below 3.7...
