Cool - but tough - challenge. As a movie poster, shouldn't we be able to include the title (text) in our image?
05/01/2006 12:32:42 AM · #4
Huh...this is gonna' be interesting
05/01/2006 12:33:49 AM · #5
Two options I guess.

1) Take photos and try to fit the DPC title
2) Think of a DPC title and take photos

I am for option-1. Which one for you guys?

Good God, I have to face Anastasia and her STUDIO in this challenge?

Hey, NASTI? Wanna make a gentlefolk's agreement to shoot this one outdoors in natural light? jejeje™

So how many "movies" will we see that involve "Dogs" and "Cats"? I'm guessing lots!

Ah, this is going to be tough. My only idea, "Driving Pink Cars," has apparently already been though of...back to the drawing board, I suppose.

That's a Negative, sir. No special rule is in place.

I thought he meant text that was captured in-camera. That should be ok.

Great idea! I'll participate.

the tough part of this challenge (to me) is that most really good movie posters aren't really good until after you've seen the movie. The photo used has something to do with the movie, and not always something to do with the title of the movie. For example, "Clockwork Orange" movie poster has no clock, and isn't orange ... but if you've seen the movie (i hated this movie, by the way), you most likely believe that the movie poster fits the movie perfectly. Another good example is "Rocky", that's an awesome movie poster, but only cuz I saw the movie.

This'll be a tough one for me.

Challenge does not say you need to follow the DPC order. It could be PCD, CPD, PDC, CDP, DCP

By the example they've given it's obvious it should be DCP and not anything else. Any other combination wouldn't connect to DCP cinema, I think.

I expect someone will go with the title "Digital Photography Challenge" -- a documentary film that follows a group of people who spend their lives entering photography contests hoping to win a virtual ribbon. :-)

do people think brackets are ok? a 1 liner with a little more about the film?

difficult question to answer:

1 - the people who thought to do it as well won't mind
2 - the people who didn't think of it will be angery at themselves and may take it out on you
3 - the anal bunch (like myself) will argue that the rules are crystal clear regarding what should be under the picture (3 words)

it's a gamble in my opinion

What about prepositions, articles, and particles? Will anal people like hopper (j/k) mark you down for something like "Destruction of a Pink Car"?

As long as no barbies were hurt in the making of your shot I think that will be ok.
