Ok, so I get back from Easter Break. I download all of my awesome pictures from my nature trip, and I promised my friend I would give a copy of all of them. So I cut the pictures and paste them into my jumpdrive (since it is the easiest transport them). I get a message that says your hard drive is full so retry or cancel. I press cancel. I go back to my pictures to cut 1 folder at a time and guess what? My pictures are gone!! Talk about a horrible way to end your Easter Sunday.
If anybody knows anyway to get the pictures back, plz write back, but I have a feeling they won't be recovered. :'( |

| Check the website of the mfg of your camera card. Many have file recovery software for their cards that's free and downloadable. |

Unless you formatted the card, the pictures are still there. Actually, there still there even if you did format, it's just that the file system will no longer be able see them, but recovery software can. My Sandisk 1GB cards all came with recovery software on a mini-CD.

Never cut. Copy. After you verified that the copy was successful, delete the pics from the card.

That's for sure the safest way to move images. In this case, wouldn't the files still be in memory to paste into another location, as long as another copy/cut was not done (or a power loss/reboot)? |
