Hi,

I did a risky thing not using a flash in a factory and now most of my photos are dark. i remember from somewhere that loosing details to darkness is repairable, is it?

I've been playing with levels, but i don't get a good result, the picture gets lighter but with much noise!

Any suggestions?

Noise Ninja (PS plug-in) first would be my starting point, then levels and curves.

If the shots are tooo underexposed (no detail recorded) then nothing you do will bring that detail back. If the detail is there, then you should be able to brighten with Levels or Curves.

Make a duplicate layer and change the blending mode to Screen, then adjust the opacity to suit. This will lighten the image and give you more to work with. On really dark images, this make need to be done multiple times.

Keep in mind that nothing can give you more detail (except perhaps a very skilled digital artist), but this can make what you do have more bulky so it's easier to work with.

Don't expect miracles. :(

David, it worked really better than the other options, the picture is not very clean and neat in details. i'm not sure what other options i had while shooting the picture other than using flash!?
