Hi Y'all,

I got a comment and a few (2) Pm's asking me about the original for ROSE.
So I wanna let you in on a secret.
Maybe somebody can learn from it, and otherwise you can have a laugh.

The photo is taken outside with my brand new 30D and the 85MM f1.8 lens (F2.5)
No reflectors where used, it was partly clouded and the background was a nice green grassfield.

Bear_Music, if you are reading this, there is a windmill in the background just outside the frame (Realy there is), I did that specialy for you ;)

After the shoot I raced home to do my postprocessing and to go to bed.
I decided on this one:

But Natacha (See my porfolio, BREEZE) told me she liked the other one better, and even if she's only 9, she has great taste.
OK, on to the original:
Just converted from RAW, USM and resided

So are there any questions?

Oh yes, that true, I made an "outtakes" online video.
These are the originals, no PP (except for the ROSE one) in a 2mb Windows movie file...
So if you are interested:
Here's the movie (1:35)

I like the original better, though I suppose it's not as "yellow."

She's only 9!?!? I would have guessed a lot more than that. Look out Next American Super Model lol if she has that much talent at that age she will surely go far.

Great image, both subject and technique.

EDIT EDIT EDIT...lol I thought you meant the subject in your Rose picture was 9...man do I feel stupid. Still a great shot.

I see now that I lied!
The first straight on close portrait is a pp´ed one, not of the camera.
Another nice thing to note is that I shot Raw+Jpeg with the portrait picture style on my 30D

All the ones with the nice glowing skin are the Portrait style pics straight out of cam. It is realy a nice effect...
The duller ones are converted from raw...

PS: The music is played on a Ressikan flute by Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise. (Yes Star-Trek)

Wonderful video Peter! What program did you use and would you care to teach me a few tricks? I like the panning in and out of the frames ;)

She's 9? Am I the only one surprised by that? She looks about 16-18.

Yea, I read it as that as well! - But on re-reading it I think what he meant was the person who helped him select the shot was 9.

OK I'll try to explain...
Liz is 22
Liz is the model.

Natacha is 9 and helped me to select the right photo for the challenge.

So Liz is 22 and not 9...

I realy need to learn how to write English...
