Where can i find this program? Some of my friends have and use this program to download pictures taken with the camera directly on their laptop and the images appear full screen, for easy viewing. This is great and i'd really like to be able to do the same.

Unfortunatly, i cannot find a single place where to get this program. I suppose its because it didn't come with the 20D...

help?

thx

Yeah, mine came with my G3. It's not all that different from DPP though, is it?

I don't use it - i find it slow and too stupidly simple, but i got it off canon's website - i got DPP there (it doesn't come with the rebel) and i got lots of other misc canon stuff too.

i picked a 1D model and went to the software/drivers area and started downloading.

What is DPP? Where can i find it?

I can't seem to find ZoomBrowswer EX ANYWHERE... even on Canon's site. There are only "updaters" that require the actual program to 'update' to.

I LOVE Zoombrowser, and yes they are only updates, but many Canon cameras come with the program, and any old version will do.
Good luck navigating the Canon site, I find it to be a pain in the neck, but in the end I always get there.

Yup... use DPP, it does RAW and stuff. Zoombrowser is clumbsy... reminds me of the Camedia stuff the wife was using with her Oly.

You need to install it from the CD that came with your cam... the stuff on Canon's site (updaters)checks to see that you already have it a version installed so it does no good to download those.

Ok, The only reason i'm interested in ZoomBrowser EX is because when you connect it through Wireless or USB2.0, when you take a picture with your camera, the photo appears directly on the screen, resized to the screen for easy viewing.

That is the only reason why i want this program. For storing images on the laptop 'right away' and to view the pictures 'right away'.

Can DPP do that? The version i have (that comes with my 20D software disk) doesn't open the images directly, you have to turn around, go click on 'it' for it to show, while ZBEX will do it directly.

If an updated version of DPP will do this, yay. Else i want ZBEX, which i do not have on a cd and can't find on Canon.com

Can you find someone else who has a canon and has the disk that should have come bundled with the camera? It came with both my PnS Powershot A70 and the Rebel XT

OK, i found the program on a german site (its the english version)... now the other problem... it seems this program only works with the bloody Rebel XT?... WTF canon?

This is ridiculous... please guys tell me this ain't true? Anyone with a 20D running the program?

see my post above? I love zoombrowser and it works just fine with my 20D.

Looks like you can get an updater for ZoomBrowser EX that works for the 20D by going here and putting in camera type.

Well... I have the program to its latest version (5.6). I updated my 20D Firmware to 2.3. I also have the latest XP WIA drivers for the 20D.

The program will still not see my camera.

In the Program's update list of features, it says there is a separete button to 'connect to EOS models'... which i cannot find anywhere. Any of you guys have this?

This is a big mystery to me... i usually have no problems with these kind of programs, but ZBEX is a pain...

What have i forgotten?

Instead of hooking up the camera itself, I use a card reader. Works like a charm.

When I bought my 20D a year ago the version of Zoombrowser that I had (came with the D30 and I had upgraded it a few times online)didnt read the raw files for the 20D. I enquired with Canon on whether they had an update that would read the CR2 files and they said no!!!! Is this something new? I liked Zoombrowser a lot but now use Raw Shooter Premium for editing and just drag and drop with Windows Explorer to download from camera to computer.

Edit to add: I got DPP with the camera when I bought it and I dont like it.

I can't remember exactly when it started working with RAW, but for at least the last two upgrades it certainly has. I am now on version 5.6

It sees all my files, including the RAW, just fine - both thumbnail and full images.

Beetle, i want ZBEX to open the pictures as they are taken and display them on the screen. I have my desktop computer with a Sandisk card ready that does the other jobs.

As far as I know it has always seen the Raw files or as long as they had the .CRW tag (D30 and D60) but the 20D has a CR2 tag after the file name which it didnt recognise when the 20D first came out. Canon must have since upgraded it to include these files too since I enquired.
