OK dont flame me, this is my first time on this site and first post. I currently have a Canon Elan 7. Thinking about going into digital and am looking at the D100 or the 10D. I heard that theres a D200 coming out, anyone know the specs on it? I read one previous post about this already and I am sorry if Im starting a thread thats already been started. Dont be afraid to give me all the uglys of both of the cameras.

If you already have a Canon Elan 7, why are you considering a Nikon DSLR? Your lenses for the Elan should all work with the 10D, I'm not sure why you would consider putting yourself in a situation where you would need to buy all new lenses.

I agree with ClubJuggle.

One month ago I was in the same situation as you are. I have a canon Elan II with two lenses. I loved it. I decided to move toward to the digital world and researched it and bought the canon 10D. I believe I made the good decision. Now I can use most of my accessories to the Canon 10D (Lenses, Flash, Bags Etc.).

In most cases I am in the same boat as you are. This is my first posting and I am a new member. dpchallenge is my favorite site. Do not confuse with my name digitalpro. I am trying to become one like the so many in the dpchallenge.

Good luck in your research.

I agree also. Both cameras have their pros and cons and in the end come out fairly equal. But the fact that you already have Canon equipment should be the deciding factor.

For me, getting the 10D was a no-brainer. My dad had an Elan with several L-type lenses. There was no way I could afford the camera AND quality lenses otherwise.
