I've just been notified that my Sins II entry "Shared DPC Lust" has been DQ'd for the foloowing reason:

Explicit content like this is forbidden by our Terms of Use.

I completely understand why it was DQ'd, as was it's partner image and I am by no means angry at SC, admins or those that requested the DQ. It was edgy, too edgy. I pushed the envelope too far.

I assumed that it was in the rules. No genitals, no actual sex acts. But, it came too close to the edge. I would have not submitted anything this graphic in any challenge, but it seemed appropriate for a challenge I assumed would contain a lot of "lust."

But, to be perfetly honest, I think we had the most creative entries in the challenge and nailed the topic of Sins well.

I'd like to aplogize to those that found offense in the image. I know it's somewhat expected that I will go edgy and push the envelope, but I never intend to completely offend anyone. I understand the need to keep images like this out of the eyes of younger voters. So, I ask of you to accept my apology.

Will I continue to do edgy shots? Yes, when appropriate. I do think I have a better understanding of "the edge" now, so it probably won't go in that direction.

I'm open for questions and an open discussion. Please don't turn this thread into a rant on morals/religion.

The link to Shutterpug's Entry ... also DQ'd

Edit: So that Shutterpug gets heard also:

Leroy stated well both our intentions and our sentiments. My apologies also to whomever was truly offended. The images were not meant to be offensive. In my mind they fit the challenge well and were more of a parody at the same time.
There will be no argument with SC or D&L on my part either. I do not agree that they violated the rules, but will accept that they came close and that the majority has ruled.
Unlike my friend in this adventure, I have never really pushed the envelope before. I can't say that I would not push it again, as I like living on the edge and artistic freedom. I too though have a better understanding of where the edge has it's limits.

In close, my apologies to all who were offended, and my thanks for those who left comments that they had enjoyed the images as they were presented.

In that case I'm sorry I missed it.

damn I missed it too.

Well, without going back to find the missing entries I reckon I know the image/s.

The good news is, you know what direction the 'envelope' should not be pushed in future.

Cheese was near the knuckle in a different way - keep the funny ones coming :)

I guess we all have our own level of tolerance. I did not find one photo on this challenge that I would consider lewd. Some may have been in bad taste perhaps, but lewd... I don't think so.

To each their own I guess....

Best of luck in future endeavours.

This DQ makes about as much sense as firing Jocelyn Elders as Surgeon General.

For what its worth. I actually loved the idea of the two shots, when yours first came up I thought- someone is in for a butt kicking- then a few votes later the second "teamwork" image popped up. I gave both 10's for the record I thought it was downright funny and took no offense whatsoever, although I can see how some could. Good luck with your future entries.

No offense seen. No offense taken.

Shutter, I saw yours first... I knew it was you and I liked it, not as sharp as it could have been but I liked it. Then I saw the cheese man's, then I upped the vote on both of them. I think fotoman may have pushed a little harder, but I did not think they were lewd. But that's just me.

Borderline bad taste, but very funny. :-)

Wow, thats kinda suprising that is considered pushing the edge.. I thought it was kinda clever using the 2 images like that, kinda a long distance relationship. I guess another chipping away from the artistic freedom we normally enjoy. Lucky this wasn't a music site because The Divinyls song "I touch myself" that was an international hit, would have been over the edge also. Keep up the great photo's Leroy despite the "unmoral" DQ...

Saw his first, and thought I was seeing his last entry -- figured she was going to kill him. :D Then when I found her entry I was still laughing an hour later (not at you Linda, with the both of you).

But sadly, I was also waiting for the DQ -- although I expected it for violation of the collaboration rule. :P

Oh well, the site 'moral' minority spoke and the SC majority acted. Shame they choose to DQ for TOS reason -- I haven't checked but I assume that means the image have been completely removed and best not put back into portfolios for those who missed them.

No offense intended or done -- no apology needed.

can we see the entry? PM me a link :D

Well, in pushing the envelope, sometimes you go over the line. You then get called for it. If that's where you want to be, then I'm sure you're big enough to accept the possible consequences (which appears you are and you did).

Personally, I found them clever, but perhaps a little more than I wanted to see. I'd certainly find them a little "beyond" for our younger viewers. Lately we've seen some lesbian shots and I'd have to judge those on their intended purpose, but I wonder about them.

The challenge rules do not apply to portfolio pics, so you may post your image in your portfolio if you so wish. I personally do not find the images offensive, however, they DO depict an act of sex, which by the challenge rules is forbidden.
So lets see what all the talk is about! ;) (Just make sure you hit us up for a Thread title change if you post the pics here, so we can put up our 'warnings'.)

I think it was creative as well, but not the most creative.

It was good. Not great.

I thought they were removed for TOS violation -- not challenge rules.

Well, hold up on that, I might have a different view than the majority of the SC, so let me get a decision on if they'll allow it in the portfolio. I'll let you know.

Heather, I'm leaving the house soon to go to a ball. If SC objects to link to the photos, please edit my OP and I'll remove the photos from workshop folder late tonight
