"f/8 and be there"

I've got no idea who said it, but it reminds me to sometimes just keep it simple and shoot stupid.

"After an hour or two at sea,
My Passport Photo looks like me!"

Author unknown ( to me )

Though it sounds a bit like something Ogden Nash would write, so I'll credit him with it, unless / until I'm corrected.

When I was in my printers office the other day, they have a poster up with the quote

"Voyeur: you capture light, the entrantress, and bend her to your likeness"

I loved it! Don't know who wrote it though - anyone heard it?

Nic

It's not so much a good quote on photography, but an amusing anecdote my brother saw on a photography shop window: "Hang the family, shoot the wife and blame the kids!"

To capture the essence in a single photograph is absurd. The essence is captured while photographing.

I just made that up.(I hope nobody else said that):)
