I wanted the following photo critiqued and as yet I have not recieved one for it. Is there a problem that these are not being done in a timely manner?

Hi. As others have effectively explained - critiques for Country Life have been and gone so unfortunately your submission must have missed out. The list of requested critiques is typically longer than the number completed so some people (often many people) miss out.
In a little while I've give your image a pseudo critique since I believe in providing them for the people genuinely interested - check your image comments over the next few hours.

Thanks Mark for doing it...I told him when he mentioned he hasn't had a critque in a while to post it in the forum under critique club and request to have it done...I refused to do it for him, after all I got to live with him, and I think the photo he wants done is so cute but then I am very bias when it comes to kitten photos. |

I have done the critique on this photo. Personally I prefer to approach critiques this way since when taking them from the queue I often got no recognition even when a PM was sent. For a while I was even so bold as to politely ask for a critique in return if they had time - Not once did that crazy idea work.
To be honest, I wonder if the process of requesting a critique should be slightly more complex / cumbersome than simply ticking a box on the submission form. Perhaps a tickbox on the image itself after voting completes so that only those genuinely interested are added to the queue? I just have a feeling that almost everyone ticks that box regardless of their interest and my suggestion won't prevent anyone who really wants a critique from receiving one.

I believe there's a plan to do it this way, but it hasn't been coded/implemented yet. |

At the time of writing this message, there are 138 images waiting to be critiqued. I'm anxious to get less busy enough to do more (I used to do an average of about 1 a day), but even when that occurs, there will still be far more images to be critiqued than there are critics.
I would urge photographers to only click on the critique button under their photo if they are really stretching themselves and trying new things. I have enough folks around me to critique my photos, so I usually don't click on the button, but I know some folks don't have that support network. |

I think this would definitely be a good idea, I know I ticked the box for my Round entry as its the first I've entered since Off-Centre and fancied some feedback... However, the extra time I've had to look over it myself during voting has made me realise it was mainly just to get back into the game and TBH I wish I could un-tick that box and free up a space in the queue for someone else’s photo.
