In such a large challenge some entries do get missed.

These two should have finished higher in my view.

I fell in love with this candid. AMAZING capture.

The stopped movement takes my breath away.

My other tops (Stand OUT and She) have already been mentioned

I had 11 10's in Best Of 2005. This one was the lowest, 546th. I still can't believe it:

341st place???:

217th place (at least it's over a 6):

I can't believe how low this wonderful shot was scored, and how so many people thought it was "over processed".

Wow someone really likes my photo... I know that I liked it, but I did not expect to see it here after the finish of 222. Mine is the birds. By the way there were some fantastic photos in the best of 2005 and I am happy that someone believes that my entry deserves to have another look...

way underrated...

Thanks, Karen, for the high score on this one. I sort of expected that it wouldn't do so well on DPC. A consolation to me is that this same image (of the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens) won first place among hundreds of entries in a contest at the Botanical Gardens. It also won "Best of Show" in a competition in conjunction with an event called "Doors Open Niagara" last October (see here if interested), and will be exhibited at the renowned Burchfield-Penney Art Center from May thru August of this year.

...so, is there a lesson here regarding audiences?? ;-)

My only 10. The top three got 9's from me.

This one is lovely.

It was a first submission and I'm pretty sure no USM was used & not using the full size kinda hurt it, but I thought it was great.

It's quite bizarre how each of the two saguaros in this shot is a different height, yet each of them is precisely tangent to a distant ridgeline. Not a good thing, either...

Great Shot! I thought that was Buffalo. Haven't been to the Botanical Gardens in a while so I wasn't 100% sure. So much amazing architecture around here, there's no excuse for me to have a lack of inspiration.

Some of my favorites that didn't place high enough in my opinion:

(Actually, I wish there were a way to sort the results by score, it would make this easier!)

At first I missed the real point of this thread. But I have tried to correct myself. Some great ones overlooked by the voters in Best of 2005.
