I've often wondered if a "mentoring" challenge might be nice, where true neophytes are teamed up with experienced members who help them edit the pictures for the challenge. Would be a great learning opportunity. The neophyte would make the entry, the "partner" would be revealed after voting closed, and both would get ribbons :-)

Bear, thats just about the best idea I have heard for a long long time. I'd be up for that.

I don't care for subset challenges - there is always someone who is not included in any. It gets devisive.

When are we going to see a 'Brown Ribbon' challenge?

I don't like the exclusionary side of invitational challenges. However, if done in the "Exclusive" challenges, where the second challenge is used to include the rest of the members, that's not bad once and a while. In other words, the two challenges:

Group A, those under 5'8"
Group B, those 5'8" and above

(facetious example)

Where group A + group B = All of DPC makes it work.

The mentoring (pairs) challenge has been suggested before, and it's a good idea.
