I know I'm a bit odd but I don't fantasize about lesbiens or controling other people with my mind. I understand other people do and that's fine.

I do actually have fantasies all the time about trees that walk, squirels that play poker in hollowed out trees, my dogs actually digging to China etc. Maybe I'm schitsophrenic or have an over active imagination but those are the things I fantasize about. So even if the challenge was to shoot a personal fantasy I would shoot it the same and I believe I would stand just as much a chance of meeting the challenge as the "Domino Sugar Commercial Gone Wrong" would.

I don't believe this is just another Free Study challenge. Wile there may be many interpretations of the challenge there were some general guidlines given to help people fit it into a theme. There is a customer here and that is the voters. The challenge is to come up with an image that pleases the voters. Know your target audience and you will do well here.

IMO some examples of images that would do well in this challenge would be:

Anyone else want to share their ideas on what would make good shots in this challenge?
01/16/2006 03:06:19 PM · #27
What about having no worries? Would that be fantasy? Or would that be 'in your dreams'? lol
01/16/2006 03:22:36 PM · #28
readoak you read way to much into the challenge description then expect everyone else to agree with you.

It is not personal fantasy exclusively, you could certainly enter one, but that is not the definative extent of the challenge.
And who are ANY of us to judge what another persons fantasy is?
Some migth fantacies to win blue, others to buy a mustang, others about a sexy naked woman. Some might fantasies about otherkin worlds they have read of in books or imagined in thir hearts.

A fantasy is something fantasied about.

RedOak, I TOTALLY see your point. Another thing that SUCKS big time is not having models or a model. I have the greatest idea ever for this challenge, but there is no one on this side of God's green earth who would do it, unless I paid them and insured them...LOL. SO I too am really stuck to the hum-drum on some of these challenges, as I will be this one with my plan B, and I know it. I usually just enter what I can and let the chips fall. I hate not entering, but I do try not to have it thrown in either and work on it a bit with what I can.

No, LOL...but feel free to use that as your fantasy :)

I'll probably have to, same reason as you, but I don't mind ;)

Well, I may not have to revert to plan b after all. I have a whole new idea. My entry will go in, but not till late on the 22nd. Hopefully it will go in on time, but if not, I will get plan b ready. This challenge for me is going to be a challenge in itself to pull off.

Good luck to everyone. There really are many variations to the theme. I just had to tune out my own tunnel vision to see one.

My new profile pic could be a fantasy. I wanted to be a tortilla head for a minute:)

As a side note. How many voters do you think are completely biased and out of thier minds?

Rose,

I think you are absolutely right. However, myself, being completely altruistic and artistic, have to admit that I leave my bias at the curb when judging:)

my god damn computer + network + dsl is acting up. It seems every time I ask for an image to CC something happens to this computer and the rest aren't setup for photo's. breath man breath anyways I'm hoping I'll have this figured out since its working for right now and be able to shoot, edit, enter, and ribbon so please don't waste your time by entering this challenge since I got it all figured out. Now if I could only figure out the mean of life and why I can't play the harp.

Gosh, I just got another idea, and will now reshoot. All I have to do is get over the flu in time to get it done. My best ideas come to me in the middle of the night. This one did and I think it too will be a "WOW", and I am very excited to enter now! Bout time too. I'm not too excited about entering the new challenges of wildlife or portraying another artists style. I forsee many birds and many flowers. So fantasy will hopefully get me through the next week or so.

Mine is DONE and am I ever thankful. I never want to do another shot like that again! LOL...I sure hope it was worth it. Make a mental note to read the story behind mine later. You'll laugh!! LOL....

Mine's finished, well ahead of time--which is a big change from the thirty-seconds-before-deadline trick I so often pull.

This image is a combination of very honest and personal and a bit of an attempt to create a crowd-pleaser. You know, something somewhat substantial that also has (some) WOW value.

I really like this challenge - I look forward to seeing everyones' work.

Damon

P.S. Rose - Hope you feel better. Let me give you some motherly advice (I enjoy irony)- make sure you drink plenty of liquids and don't tire yourself out! Have you ever tried White Tea? It's the best tea I've ever had, and I swear it's also the best anti-cold brew money can buy (not to mention the most delicious!)

Yeah, I entered mine and went out of my way to do a "WOW" factor this time as well. LOL...It was NOT easy! LOL....

Thanks for the advice, but I don't drink any tea or coffee. I can't have caffeine, and even when it says decaf, it still has some in it. I don't drink tea for that reason, or coffee, or anything hot. I only drink no fat milk, or sometimes some decaf soda, but only on occasion.

I'm doing better, but it was very difficult doing that shot today. I had to do it today because of one element I needed and I couldn't guarantee would be around again between now and the 22nd. But otherwise, I would have waited. :)

I'm out too. It just doesn't interest me - I'm thinking about Tribute.

Good luck, all.

Hi my favorite people,

Well, you only have a few days to deadline, so hope you have all been fantasizing extremely well out there, as I for one, am so looking forward to all your entries. Common blow me away, I dare you. I think most of my family and friends think I fantasize much to much.

I let you on a little "secret". A couple of you already know, I was born with "short stature", or more well known as "dwarfism". I don't ever want sympathy, just respect. I love my world and everything and everyone in it. I have been fantasizing from the time I was born. I only wish I knew some of you in person, but I am very happy with the contacts I have already made through DPC. I love you all.

Let's go out there and make those fantasies come true, bring on those photos.....

I have also started a thread in the "Best of 2005" challenge, "831 comments on every entry in the best of 2005 challenge"..... I do hope you have read and enjoyed my thread there as well. I appriciate each and every comment you all make.

thanks for your time.....

Nice to meet you too sherpert!

I too am excited to see all the entries, and I hope you are blown away by mine! *smile*

I think we all fantasize. My particular chosen one isn't my own fantasy, but just something I thought about overnight. I usually get my best ideas at night, so this "I think" will be one of them. We shall see soon enough!!

Hope to talk more in the future!

I coming into my first Member's Challenge on this one. I must say it was fun editing under advanced rules. That healing brush is a great thing when ya might have missed a stray speck here or there. :-)

Wish me luck!
