Hrmph. I hope mine moves up instead of keeps declining. I wonder how you know when you get a 1?
I'm not reaching for booze, but I think within a few minutes I'm going to be riding my bike awaayy from my computer/update button. Coming up on the second day here and I've checked my update button on 4 computers outside of my house already..... Woo. Addiction strikes fast!
I usually try to vote on 100% of challenges I enter. If people are voting on my picture, I feel it is fair to return the favor.
I also try to give out a minumum of 20% comments plus returning comments in people's portfolio when they comment on mine.
I was up to 3:00 am last night voting.
How do you see the vote breakdown during voting? It seems strange to hear people say they got ones or tens. I can break it down if I see the vote number change by one, especially if the overall number of votes is low, but is there a way to specifically see your vote breakdown during the challenge? |

Its just when it changes after one vote and it shoots down ;)

You (if geekiness strikes you) can set up an excel spread sheet to track scores/score number and see precisely what each voter scores. but its worse than the update button because your heart rides on a terrible tide.

I'm not in this one but I did just finish voting 100% of the entries with nothing under a 4 and lots of 7, 8 & 9's .. it was a hard challenge to vote on. I will try to work on some comments but the # of entries is a bit overwhelming for my work schedule (in meetings from 8:30 til 5:00 for the next 3 days doing programming) so my brain might be toast at the end of the evening .. I will try though ... great job everyone :) |

Well, I've moved up out of the 4 range - yeah. If I can creep to an average score of 5.5 with all of the incredible photos entered, I will be most satisfied.

Stats: You have rated 834 of 835 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 52 images (6%) in this challenge
Whewww....Round one is done!! Now that I have a good lay of the land, will start with round 2 in day or so and really get down to business. Awarded three "obvious" 10's this round and untold 8's and 9's. I suspect a number of bumps coming from the 6's and 7's.
I admit that I did award two 3's to the "what were you thinking, have you never looked at any of the top 50 images in ANY challenge" category. But I may feel more generous as time passes - you get a little jaded after looking through sooo many pictures in one day. :-)
I do have one comment, and admittedly this is a personal bias, but there were a significant number of over processed pictures in this group. I felt pretty generous on a number of shots, handing out 5's and 6's. There was dodging halos galore, over sharpened images, scorched (over-burned) skies, etc. On the other side of the spectrum, there was some real post processing "artwork" out there, just some real outstanding stuff!!
A note to those who like to hunt and peck your votes via thumbnail interest - I found a number of cool looking thumbnails that did not bare fruit upon enlargement. I also found other rather mundane thumbnails that provided a gourmet meal of imagery upon opening them up. Bottom line, you have two weeks, try to take a look at all the pictures, as there are some real gems out there!
As for my personal score. It has ranged between a 5.5 and a 6.5 throughout the day, and NOT in one general direction - I guess there is a real love/hate relationship going on with my photo. All that matters is that I am feeling the love after two weeks. :-) |

Just finished voting my first 100. It looks like my average is 6.5, give or take. I cannot fathom voters scoring as low as everyone's reporting - they must be bitter bitter people to score these gems so low.
I'm now a-fearin' looking at my score on Friday. Don't forget, guess my score and I'll give you a free membership!!! Details are above. Two guesses are in, Rikki's probably the closer of the two. (Note: I do *not* yet know my score so don't go by that comment.) Am I serious? Yes. |

Oooof, I did 'em all.
9 - 10s
11 - 9s
64 - 8s
140 - 7s
and that's when I stopped counting... and this is just the first sort. But if I look at another picture tonight, I'll sell my cameras and take up knitting or something (what a thought). So we'll see what tommorrow brings. |

Heh Cindi. If you are a real geek, you won't need to use an excel spreadsheet in your computer.
You already have one in your head.
Vote to vote, you can visualize it....
Heh. I think I am mostly getting 4's, 5's and 6's. It seems like I got a couple of higher votes in there.
Hey, if I can get a couple of 10's on my earlier entries, this one should get at least uhhhh three of them..
PS. Langdon. I like the new voting system. Where are my free 10's? (from another thread)
I like the new voting system.
I like the new voting system.
I like the new....

199 voted on and 26 comments so far. Whew. I must say there are some really good photos here. I can't believe some of these weren't already submitted in other challenges. |
