Recently there has been a marked increase in poor etiquette in the forums, including provoking/goading other users and a general lack of civility. While little of this has risen to the level of violating the Terms of Service, it greatly detracts from the usefulness of the forums as a place to share information, reflects very badly on the DPC Community and generally makes the forums an unpleasant place to be.

Users who demonstrate a repeat pattern of name calling, personal attacks, antagonizing and baiting/goading other users into combative exchanges will be subject to penalties, including suspension and, ultimately, a site ban for repeated offenses.

"PM Flame Wars" will also not be tolerated. Harassing other users through unwanted, combative PMs will be cause for severe penalty up to and including suspension or site ban.

We all want the DPC community to thrive and grow; destructive behavior in the forums or through Private Messages is not the way to make that happen. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Indeed. I let my subscription to the site run out a while back because I was just too busy with things to bother with much photography. Mainly helping family and friends clean up after Katrina decided to mess everything up.

Anyway I bought a new camera and now have time to play around with it and was going to renew my membership but I just didn't like reading through a bunch of the forum junk and seeing all the arguing over stupid junk. I do read a lot of threads but I don't post much just because I am not much of a talker.

Maybe it is time to renew it now that they are going to try and clean things up. :D

Thank you.
I was beginning to be very sorry I spent the money on membership.
I've walked away from every site that has degraded into childish behavior.

Oh Thank You! I have been seriously considering staying out of the forums, but there really is so much good to be had here, and good people.

Thank you for reminding us all to behave like proper young ladies and gentlemen :)

To save everyone the time it just to me to do this...

From dictionary.com:
Goading - verb.
- To prod or urge with or as if with a long pointed stick.

Come on, you didn't know what it meant either!

Cool, but do you think you could include whining?

Thankgod for that! The forums were getting to be a pretty depressing place to go lately! Well done guys!

Thanks! I read a lot of this going on over the last day or two...amusing enough that I commented to my husband about it.
Some people here are pretty good with the sarcasm when somebody
is goading them! ;) I played it safe and stayed out of it.

It's a paradox.. he's "whining" about whining :)

Cood call folks, we all needed to take a step back and breathe

I agree, and laughter is a proven form of healthful breating.

Asking a simple question is whining? :D

I knew it was too subjective when I asked. I'm just glad someone else found the humor in it. ;)
