Whew, I'm not calling out any names here, but I just came across a profile with over 5500 votes cast and the average vote given was 3.31. Never seen that low for that many votes. Can anybody beat that?

I am not a bad guy after all, it seems.

Who is this guy, who has this avg.

Brent, your average vote received is 7.2...share the love. :) I was feeling like I was stingy when I was in the low fives. Now I'm 5.56 or something and feel like maybe I need to crack down a little.

But 4.1 still pales in comparison to a 3.3. You aren't even in this guy's neighborhood...

I'm pretty picky:

Votes Cast: 29058
Avg Vote Cast: 4.9775

And that number is actually climbing...

I've never understoof why people keep suggesting that those with high average votes received should be giving high votes in return. I'd almost expect the opposite; that the REALLY good photographers would be more discerning in their voting and have lower averages in votes given.

I was totally joking, of course, Bear. I agree with you. The high average received probably means a discriminating eye (hence low average given). That's why I'm afraid I'm losing mine...

I shy away from voting anymore because I'm so picky.

I've already slept 4 hours tonight. I rarely sleep straight through for 8 hours. Most of the good stuff on TV is late night, and I like to be awake to check out the dawn potential. If it looks like good shooting weather I bundle up me and Karma and hit the road; if not I go to bed again around 6 AM and sleep until 10 AM.

Hah! It's 3:30 here, and I'm busy attaching two 24" fluorescent light fixtures to a piece of plywood. I want to see what I can do with lights balanced to 6000k.

I agree. I usually only sleep 4 1/2 - 5 hours a day. I work the night shift too.

As for my avg votes:

Avg Vote Cast: 4.8317
Votes Received: 9403
Avg Vote Received: 5.0334

pretty close to one another

You see, to me, while you're sleeping, you're missing out on life. What's going on. I just can't understand people that like to sleep a lot....

For real - I think my hours of sleep have always been kept to a minimum for fear I might miss something. When I do sleep, I sleep very lightly and often wake up every hour or so. Once I am sure nothing is going on, I can turn over and get back to sleep. But after 4-5 times of that I'm wide awake.

Definitelhy...I've been known to go for a couple days or more and then finally crash for a few hours due to just absolute exhaustion....Sheila (my wife) bugs me constantly about not sleeping, but, I can't break the habit I guess.
But...I think I'm hijacking this thread...perhaps we need a 'Sleep Sux' thread???
