Is anyone else really looking forward to the voting on "Best of 2005"? I'm sure I'm not going to ribbon with mine, but I'm really happy with the picture I took and I'll be disappointed if it's not among my personal best scorers. I can't wait (though I'll have to) to see the comments. *crosses fingers*

Yes. I'm looking forward to it. There should be some fantastic shots. If I break the top 100 I'll be happy I think! :)

I am trying to choose between a few pics that I really like. The best picture is unfortunately great because of some of the detail that is hard to represent in 640 pixels, no matter how many times I post process. I really don't want to crop it, but am afraid that it will suffer without it. Lesser photos might do better in the constraints of this site. Might have a seventh go at post processing for DPC tonight...

yep its a hard decision, so my sister and dad helped me pic, and also my dad suggested to me to also think about which one I sold the most prints on. So after talking with my dad and sister, also some people who have brought from me I finally choosed one.

Yes I am looking forward to seeing them all, and yes, the decision which one to enter was tough.

And just like last year I wonder why on earth we need TWO weeks to submit a photo that is already there for a challenge we all anticipated.

It was easy to pick mine...I had it planned out for awhile.

Top 10...here I come!

:P

I am really looking forward to seeing all the great photos that will be posted for this challenge. The one I submitted was actually taken the last weekend in December. Personally, it is one of my favorite shots for the year (all my other favorites are already posted in my portfolio so didn't want to use any of those even if I can hide them during voting), but compared to what I am sure will be some great photos, I don't know how well it will do.

I had a hard time choosing between 2 of my photos. I'll post the other as an outtake after the challenge is over.

I started with 10 pics to choose from. I narrowed it to two this week and finally entered something. I'm looking forward to this one as well.

The January freestudy is going to be good as well.

Wow. 537 images so far. This is going to take the whole half of the month of January to vote on... Last year I had no trouble picking my best photo. This year it was a struggle. With over 500 images I'll feel really good if I'm in the top 100. This is going to be a tough one to vote on I think. Good luck to all. Ann

looks like we may break the record number of entries...636 for B/W II I believe.

Lots of entries, and many will be in the superb category. My 'best' is likely to be in the low fives but nevertheless represents my best of the year!

I'm not looking forward to voting on all those images. I took my image on December 29th. I think though it is one you will either love or hate. So, here's to the top 10 or the bottom 10...

I will be more than happy with some good comments and a couple of favourites. The standard of images on this site is extremely high so if I get half way up I will be pleased.

Actually, a TRUE "love it or hate it" photo will fall right in the middle of the pack :-) The extremes will cancel each other out and there ya are!

do you think we'll break the 636 entries record for the B&W challenge (which I'm fairly sure holds the record)

I am really looking forward to the challenge. My personal pick was easy. It's not my best photo but it's the one that meant the most to me during the year and I would like to present it for mass scrutiny.

Can we enter a picture that has been posted to the site, but not entered in the challenge? All of my favorite shots throughout the year unfortunetly, usually get posted for comments/critique. Just curious.

I have a picture that I'd like to send, but I think that it will be penalized by the small size (it's lots of details). Maybe I go with a risky picture and see what happen.

What if it's already in your portfolio:))?

I didn't have a hard time choosing because I took so few this year. Due to personal reason I didn't start shooting again till around Sept. and then most of those I shot for challenges. I am pleased with the one I entered and I am predicting a placement of 62nd place. :) I would be thrilled if that really happened with that many entries. I can't wait to see the entries. There are going to be many WOW's.

Anyone else want to predict their placement?
