I ran across dpchallenge a few months ago - after many years of wanting to get more involved in photography, it was the main factor that got me off my duff to actually do it!

In the past I've tended to have a bit of a 'perfectionist' streak - if I'm studying for a test, I couldn't just read chapters 8-9 for the test, I needed to first read chapters 1-7, etc. This meant that either the first step would take forever - or I'd never actually take that first step.

In my older years, however, I've learned to make that first step _right away_. Once I get my feet wet I find it a lot easier to just push ahead.

So, that's why I entered the 'Oops II' challenge with the picture below. It got (and rightly so) hammered as not being in the spirit of the challenge - and that's true (even if it was, sort of, to me). Anyway, I really liked this picture - it was very close to what I was trying to take. So, I'd like people to critique it without the luggage of the challenge category hanging around its neck All comments much appreciated, I have a really thick skin!

TIA,

i like it, but it's just too blurry for me, as for the subject of the leaf...if more of the leaf could have been more in focus, i think it would have been more effective. i do like it though. :)

Basicly same comment as Jerowe, It lacks focus, the part in focus seems to be behind the front leaves which are all blurry. Probably wouldnt help the score for the challenge (oops) much but might have gotten higher for better technical if it was more in focus.

I actually quite like it...
It's different, and the focus mess up was obviously the OOPS part about it, but I guess most people didn't get it.
Keep at it, and I hope you enjoy your new camera and lenses!
