on one of the threads a few weeks ago I saw something about selling pictures on the web but I can't seem to find it!
I'm assuming these are picture libraries who buy up pictures?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm in the UK, but I assume that I could sell on US or other sites too?
(well.. if I start taking some good pictures anyway!)

Cheers.
Ingrid.

dont know if theres a referral system, in which case someone else might want to contribute their link instead. I was hoping to beat marbo to the shutterstock referral :-p

Any idea on how much can be made from these sites per month assuming a certain number of 'above average' quality pictures? I have around 20 pictures on www.dreamstime.com, from last few months, and my number has not gone above 11.5$

Now I dont feel like adding more unless I hear some encouraging stories from DPCers :)

That's not a bad rate; stock photography is a numbers game and 20 pictures is a very small portfolio.

Do you have to pay to sell pictures at Dreamstime? When I go to regester it is saying I have to buy $20 in credits...

I may as well have a go since I always do pointless things. I was on istock and it has a long quiz you must do, then it says what it doesnt want. flowers :( everyone hates flower photos. It says what it doesnt want, yet you look at the most popular and there the things it doesnt want, yet only a handful feature, so I feel its unfair.

One thing it does want is grundge, and I have tons of that, its edited and well its more artwork than photos so it feels a bit odd giving that over. Perhaps I shouldnt, but then again maybe it might get seen more then.

Also it says "amature" which is surely the wrong spelling. Its a bit in your face the istock quiz and what you must and shouldnt do, it kinda puts you off with its tone. Quite weird really. I mean it even says not to use 1 photoshop filter etc. I guess they must have got a lot of non art stuff.
