Inspired by this week's episode of Photoshop TV, I thought we could try a game of Photoshop Tennis here.

The idea is that we start with any random image, each person adds something to it and reposts it. It should be fun to see how the image progresses over time.

If you wanna, here's a random image to start us off

To work effectively, you should request an opponent to tennis with - if I work for like 10 hours on an image and someone reposts in 9 I'll be .. upset. lol

Great idea however- and I'd be up for a game in about a week.

I agree it could get a little messy with an open forum, perhaps if we called "I'm next" or something

It will be interesting to see how badly recompression affects the image. This will be the challenge for later participants unless a psd/tiff file is passed around as well as posting the results on the site.

Cindi,

are we supposed to use parts of our own photos, or can we pick other people's photos (limited to here at DPC?) I guess that is infringement, even if only for fun, but has been done before in our little community.

It would be done with proper credit due, of course. It'd be more interesting and hopefully noone would object to such (mis)use of their photos.

I was thinking we would use bits or parts from our own shots, but I'm sure nobody would mind if we shared bits. I myself would be flattered if someone borrowed a bit of one of my images. Its not like we're trying to sell them! hehee

Do we have to add something, or can we just manipulate what's already in it?

R.

Also, I think it would be better to start with an image with more DOF. Anything we add to this one is gonna look weird if it isn't blurred to the background.

Anything goes, just change it and repost. :)

You're probably right about the starter shot, Robert. What kind of image would make a better starter? Wanna offer up one? :D

Should we have two "contestants" kind of like the "Steel Cage" on Istockphoto?

I think that's more in line with what Mavrik mentioned, and would be great fun to watch, but for this one, lets just keep it open to all for the fun.

Perhaps we could start a seperate thread for each head to head challenge.

Yah. Layers to hide things behind, room for perspective effects, open foreground to intrude upon, wide open :-)
