That is NOT funny.

I think a 5-6 will be pretty high for this challenge

I don't know, but generally I was quite disspointed with the submissions for this challenge. I didn't and still don't expect mine to be in the top 50, but the comments I received were very encouraging.

I was brutal during voting, since I went back and revised a few scores.

Anyways, I started this thread to get a general feel for the spread in the scores we have for this one. Anyways, the weekend is still ahead of us (I don't have internet at home, so will not know anything till Monday) ... and scores may improve or NOT ;)

Been creeping up from under 5.5 since the first time I checked it on Monday morning. The majority of my bad votes were, it seems, were in the wee hours of Monday. Just an observation. Anyone else see this trend? Grumpy early Monday morning voters I guess.....lol

I found the same! started around 5.4... and it has been headed up since...

I'm embarased to say 3.4 but it's my first challenge and I'll be happy if I don't place dead last....but then again someone has to.

I guess I'm just pleased with myself for giving it a shot.

3.4 is better than nothing

I am very dissapointed to see how low my very much original shot seems to score in this challenge....

Specially considering the comments which are almost all positive
4.4967 and 11 comments

I guess that ppl think it doesnt fit the subject well enough :( but since other ppl talked about doing similar shots I thougt what the heck lets do it ...
My opinion is that it is the best pic i have sent in these challenges

4.93, 137, 7...and I echo the comments made here and elsewhere that the quality of this one went down from other competitions. I hope it is because there are a lot of newbies making this their first run at the competition...I certainly wish I could withdraw my first few entries! And assume that improvements are on the horizon.

This is pretty much how I feel, although I've seen much better shots than mine. A vast majority of the Speed shots are either off-brief, dull, unoriginal or just plain boring so I'm a bit confused that mine is scoring quite so low (around 4.5). That said, mine is a bit abstract/creative (and a bit hurried too!) and there is a pattern on this site of going for the stark-bleedin'-obvious-cliche shot as a preference to my kind of approach. I've had some good comments though, so there are still people out there with taste! ;)

i dont care about the scores...what i want to see is the helpful comments...as for my entries, they cant understand my submission, maybe because of cultural barriers?....even if we put a description, the voters cant read until the judging is done. thanks to all who posted some comments, its highly appreciated.

I don't care about the scores myself really - I agree that one glowing comment or positive critique can make it worth while. It's just a lot of fun to try to get an image popular without sacrificing one's creative integrity - and it's fun to whinge! ;)

at least you have comments... I have over 130 votes, and three comments, and two of the actually offer something

You can always PM people regarding their comments/questions. I do that sometimes.

I'd love some comments on my shot even a "that sucks because....." actually a "that sucks because..." would be wonderful. I've gotten 137 votes 3 comments and a constant 3.4 considering how many people low balled me I could use some clue as to why they hated my entry. I know what I don't like about it Having that validated would be fine. a harsh comment that helps me to see would be great but the majority of the comments I got 2 out of 3 were kind and chatty which I appreciate too but they're not going to help me grow ..... OK I'm rambling I'm going to stop now

I don't value much the score I got. What matters most are the comments made by others to enhance my work...much more I don't expect to get more in comparison to others' entries. I do hope my photography as a hobby will be developed with much fun:) :) :) bsalu

Folks have been very nice to me this time. 6.07 154 votes 14 comments. this is my 5th shot at it and first to be over the 5.0 level I have noticed alot of folks are new in terms of comments but at the same time some seasoned pros. And as far as the low scores are concerned it would be nice if when you do give out a 1 or 2 there could be some kind of even generic "why" I have seen some well placed shots with some very low scores. Just seems it would be nice to find out what made the shot so wrong for some folks. Just some thoughts:)

Hold on ... let me fix that for you ... 1 ... click ! HAHA

If I took the time to explain what is wrong with every 1 - 2 - 3 that I gave in this challenge ... lets just say that it would take a very long time. I've seen some abstract shots in this challenge (I submitted one), but some submissions didn't seem to fit the challenge at all ... hence a 1.

Mine is swinging. It started out at 5.7, moved up to 6.3 and now it's back to 5.8. It's one of my favorite shots I've taken, I guess we'll see where it ends up. ; )

It was my first challenge.. rushed shot as well to get something in.. no excuses I can see the fault in both my work and interpretation... glad to be scoring 3.8 BUT must do better in future..
