Konador and wayne9232's submissions for the At Work challenge resulted in a tie. This is now reflected in the results and on the home page.
Congratulations to both second place winners.

Although it isn't reflected ribbon-wise or otherwise, we now have a new third place. Congrats Sanandan.
*edit Congrats to all the winners. :)

Actually, Sanandan is still in 4th, as there are 3 photos which scored higher than his. The rankings of 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 4th are correct as listed. That doesnt change the fact that it's a great photograph and should be congratulated regardless!

You're correct Terry, even though it has the third highest score. I guess it's all in how you look at it. Cheers. :)

It's not all that cut and dry. What you're calling the 4th place photo has the 3rd highest score. In other similar ribbon-based, medal-based, placement-based, et cetera contests it is typical to ensure ribbons of each rank are assigned, even if that means multiples of each are used. Sanandan should certainly be awarded a yellow ribbon. Not that anyone has given it much thought until now. |

In thy olympics if there is a tie for second two silver medals are awarded, and no bronze medal. Likewise a tie for first would result in gold-gold-bronze.

I agreed with this system, but have serious reservations about citing the IOC as any kind of medal model (sorry), as they are/were probably as corrupt and hypocritical an organization as you're likely to find.
The only time I think we'd have more than three ribbons would be a flat-out tie for third (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd). |

When this happens in golf the results are like this as well.
1st
T-2nd
T-2nd
4th
etc...
and the 2nd place winners split the sum of the 2nd and 3rd place prize.
Maybe we could do the same and give two orange ribbons : )

Since this is actually a FUN (!) competition, with no prizes at stake, why not award the man a ribbon anyway - it'll look pretty in his portfolio!

Problem is it also screws up the display of the front page to have 4 pictures there. ;-)

I thought about that too, so what about an animated gif that toggles the two, linking to a page displaying both as thumbnails?
