| Thanks to those who PM'd me about this update. It does feel a bit empty a victory with both the method and time...However a ribbon is a ribbon and it's a nice addition. |

DPCstats UPDATE: 01/26/2006
Due to the Disqualification of the 1st place ribbon in the landscape II challenge in 2005 the results have be updated for 2005 and Overall Ribbon Pages..
Congratulation to DrAchoo for moving up to the blue, Sammie for moving up to the Red, and seriocomic for reciving the Yellow ribbon.

No no, you eared it fair and square. Had the rules been applied in the other cases, those ribbons wouldn't have been earned.

I totally understand. I'm sure I'd feel the same way if I were in your situation. It's lousy to have the award given so long past the point of proper recognition. If I got a picture on the front page, I'd be like, "WOW! THIS IS SO GREAT!" -- but from a months-later DQ of a higher ranking image, if a little ribbon just appeared out of nowhere on my profile page, I'd be like " . . . oh."

Seriously, congratulations. The ribbon was rightfully yours from the start, it just took a while to realize that!
Maybe Drew/Langdon could put Landscape II up on the front page again next week? That might help!

Wow, just found out I moved up from the yellow to the Red ribbon in Landscape - thanks for sending the PM, Scott. I might not have even noticed it. What a shame about the former first place entry - if someone can take such beautiful photos they shouldn't have to cheat.

Congratulations to the new winners! Well deserved ribbons never mind if they came late. I also noticed the deliberate cheating of this otherwise fine photographer when I looked up his website. Amazingly beautiful photos! Why cheat?

Oh, excuse me, Sherlock here again ;) he nearly admitted his crime in the Landscape II Scores
"well, I'm close to 7.8 but I think I'm gonna get disqualyfied .. I made alot of pictures in that particular scene, but I forgot to note which one was the one I've sent for the contest.. I've got a request for proof and I've uploaded something that looked pretty close to the one i've submitted :(

Hi there,
I'm the criminal. I'm very ashamed of what I've did and I still cannot find a good reason for that. I'm not looking for excuses or trying to explain my actions, I just want to appologize for taking the chanches of other photos to win :(
I promise I'll never do anything like that again and I also promise I'll never participate in a challenge here on DPC with any other identity. Its not a promise to you only, its also a promise to myself ...
I have dissapointed many of you (who knows me here on dpc) and all of romanians that participate in DPC ...

In this day and age, an apology goes a long way. It's too easy to just fade into the background. You still take great photos...

This is a very nice aplology, it sounds very genuine and contrite. It was very big of you to give it - I admire that.
It seems like you really learned something from all of this and that is really a good thing. Nothing is entirely bad when you learn from it.
Hopefully, you will be reinstated soon and can participate in challenges again - your pictures are very, very nice. |
