I guess I'm not doing so bad, seeing these 4.* scores. Guess I'll go score and comment on some pics!

If I'd remembered just HOW addictive the update button is I wouldn't have started submitting again. LOL

Started at 5.1 and inching up a bit. I'm sure it'll drop again ...

Don't feel bad, Don. They rejected my first submission too. My problem was processing

Thank you--that does make me feel a lot better (knowing I'm not the only one). But because they rejected them, they shut off uploading on my account. Their form email basically said to practice some more and try again at a later date. Well, how much later? I want to try again!!

Jaimeson--thanks for the comment on my entry! I guess the green laser does sort of give mine an alien look...

I just told my wife about this, she doesn't feel so bad now either. Sorry for the harsh judging guys, this really sucks. Some guy left a comment on a 2 vote for my wife, and didn't explain WHY he gave her a 2 just, "sorry, 2 from me."

It's people like that who make me twitch. At least give people the benefit of explaining why if you're going to comment at all. That's equivalent to just saying "This Sucks!" and leaving it at that. Completely un-constructive commenting.

I just saw in the site guidelines the other day that even dpchallenge asks you to comment and explain if you're giving a 3, 2, or 1. I don't remember WHERE I saw it, but I do remember seeing it.

I went to bed at a 3.7 and woke up a 4.7 20 votes later. Funny how GOOD that 4.7 looks now. ;)

Tommy 2 Tone, fotomann_forever and Jutilda, thanks for commenting on my submission.
It's nice to know why you liked it or didn't like it.. It gives me something to go on...

I agree Steve. I hate when they don't explain why they decided to give the image a low score. At least be constructive!! That's not much to ask, is it? :-)

Why does photo have to be bright is not the subject single light source?

Not too bad for myself. Obviously I am still developing, I am just glad my average is going up.

Well, I was at 6.5 last nite..then someone gave me a 1, and a few twos, and I was at 5.83 when I went to bed. Got up this morning with a nice 5.1 (grrrr). Now I have fought back to this:

It's going to be a long week.
11/16/2005 02:14:03 PM · #122
Also, I think it might be prudent to not mention details about our entries as some have done in this thread. I think the powers that be would not like that because theoretically I could come accross your photo and rate it differently because I know who it belongs to and have been co-mizerating with you. :)

11/16/2005 02:17:26 PM · #123
Amazing how these things change overnight. I went to bed with a 6.1, woke up with a 5.7. It's almost back to 6 now! I agree, it will be a long week... I'm almost glad I can't update every minute, or I'd go insane!
11/16/2005 02:46:37 PM · #124
I just have a quick question regarding this challenge. I'm noticing some picture using the sun as their single light source. As far as I understood it, that's not what the challenge was asking for....rather, a non-sun light. Am I correct in thinking this?
11/16/2005 02:58:03 PM · #125
You are correct. Lots of discussion here about it.
