I feel so dirty. I've never asked for a validation before on a pic, but I just did on a landscape entry. [ edit ] I will feel elated if it is validated, but also sheepish for asking. The [ edit ] someone who knew what they were doing (and makes me think even more it was legal).

I really hope it's seen by the person in a timely manner.

I still feel dirty...

EDIT: Don't want to influence voting after validation.

*holds Dr's hand*
I asked for a validation for the first time in...I think it was textures? I can't remember which challenge it was, exactly...But I felt dirty too.
So I feel your pain, man. :(

I'll hold your hand.
Shouldn't feel "dirty" about requesting validation - heck, I've done it a couple of times. The button is there for a reason...(You know, that reallydidn't sound right! Oh, well.)

Anyway, if you're still feeling out of sorts about it, I understand the Bar is Open...

Thanks, I think I'll sidle over for a drink. The thing is, [ edit ] if it gets the DQ because of the 48 hour deadline, I'll just die.

EDIT: Don't want to influence things after validation.

If you suspect something is wrong report it and feel happy that you have.
Don't feel dirty nothing wrong in bringing a photo to the attention of SC as they won't know if we don't tell them.

I can't wait to see which photo you are talking about :)

It was an excellent request. :)

Did you see something in the editing that looked illegal for a basic challenge or that it couldn't have been taken in the right time frame or something?

DrAchoo, I have been lurking around for a bit, and your posts seem always so fair, helpful and insightful, I have no doubt your request was a worthy one!

Someone asked my Dead End photo be validated. I don't mind, but I wish I knew why. Unfortunately, all I get is an email asking for the validity information and no reason as to why it was asked for.

I sent my info in this morning. I haven't received an answer yet. I am not sure how long it takes.

My first entry too! LOL....I can see this is going to be a long month for me! LOL....

You may find this handy: DQ guide It usually takes a couple of days to get a decision. If your image is DQ'd you'll receive an explanation.

When I voted I've asked for multiply validations on images. Doesn't effect me because I usually voted high anyways. Lot's of "10's" and such.

Thanks for the link. SO many links, so little time.

Well, I guess I will just have to wait then! I hope they did it because they felt my photo was just that good! LOL...

Look at it the other way around, unless I'm the only one who felt honored to be asked for a validation on the Busy challenge. I thought it was a sign of having done a great picture that someone thought it needed to be validated. So I wouldn't feel bad if I were you.

I'm a night-owl, and i do my first-pass voting usually within a couple hours of the challenge going up. It's very common for me to request validation for a few images in each challenge. If I see something that looks like it may be questionable, then my thinking is: "Let's get the SC looking at this ASAP, so if it IS kosher it can get a validation stamp in a timely manner."

The rules to the contrary notwithstanding, I believe the voters tend to downgrade any image they find questionable. So I try to help out :-)

Well, I see we lost 2 pics...but not the one I had in question. Not yet. Unless it doesn't disappear when you look at it.

I got asked to be validated before (Light on White). I thought that was cool that I created an image and people didn't know how it was done. Of course, everything was legit :)
