How about some thing stately and European like Coolidge Hans?
Then you can call him Cool Hans Lucas!

I guess theres no use in further helping Imagineer if the child has a name already :)

Oh - we got the deadline wrong - it was yesterday and the state has chosen a random name of 'Luther'.

Seriously though - this has been fascinating, not least because there have been at least six repetitions among our own shortlist. A few of our names do connect with family, etc. but I love loads of the suggestions here.

Incidentally, in the meantime we've been making do calling him bubba, cheeky chops, etc.
: )

Thanks for all the kind comments too - I'll be back to you!

Haven't read the other suggestions...

Ray

Benjamin

Lex (oh come on, Lex Lucas sounds GREAT)... or maybe Alexander which could always be shortened to Lex amongst other nicknames like Xander and Al and Ali...

Jeremiah (I know it's a bit biblical which you may not want but it's a nice name)

Or maybe Pie. Pie Lucas. Mmmmmmmm! OK maybe not but the rest are good!

Never name your kid Jimmy or James unless your up for it...
My son is Jimmy Jr.-- husband Jimmy--- Uncle Jimmy--- cousin James and a much older cousin named James --- let me tell you -- they are the wildest and most honery bunch.... wouldn't trade any of them -- even the one with ADD.... but if anyone is listening..... take heed.

When our child is born in May--
We have Trinity Lavinia for a girl or
Jacob Blade for a boy--- it goes with Jimmy Steele Jr.
So if the two play football in High school -- Steele Blade -- kinda catchy
The Trinity goes with our other daughter Destiny Marie--
you have to come with something original to go with a last name like Gonzales-- there are alot of us out there!!

George-- hey george lucas-- cool
Jack ---
Bob---
His hair does look kinda red
Rusty
Rex
or Zachary-- all good red hair kids names

Awaiting the results! I am in the process of looking for a name for my son due in March, don't need any suggestions as I can view all these but do have a tentative one in mind.

(What do you call him in the meantime??)

How about Julian Miles? I really like the name Julian actually, no matter what the middle name is. :)

Still no decision! But by way of an update…

Names already on our list prior to this thread, but duplicated in it:
Scott
Nathan
Ryan
Harrison
Xavier
Jasper
Ashton
Sam (Samuel/Sampson) - suggested by my eldest son
Jules/Julian
--
others we like:
Owen
Damien (I love those films!)

also rans but rejected due to existing references...
Oliver/Ethan (our friend's son's name)
Sean (my mate's name)
Dylan (the name of my iguana!)
Spartacus (we wanted our friends to call their son this - their surname is Sparkes!)
Max (friend's son)

Family names already taken:
John (my Dad)
Alex
Ray
Michael
Jack
James
Daniel

---
More unusual ones which we like:
Sky
Zane
Xavier (yes, we did consider this!)
Freddie (but don't like Fred or Frederick - and not so great in adulthood)

---

I really like lots of suggestions here - including Camron (Cameron)!! OK, not for the reason stated but it has a great ring to it.

We like [something] Scott Lucas - and loads of names go with it, so we're still chewing it over, although we also like Scott as his first name too!

Some very funny suggestions too… and thanks for the excellent representation of Great Britishness Kpriest - it suits him I think!
: )

PS. it took us 6 weeks to name our middle son - and I think it does make a difference once you see what they look like as this thread has seemingly demonstrated

Julian Scott Lucas... that's the one. :)

Do what I did with my eldest son...we let him decide!

We came up with a list of 20 names. We split the list in 1/2 so we'd have 10 for first name and 10 for second. We read the names to him and the one he reacted to for each list is the one we decided on.

Twas cool back then and makes for a really good story now :)

I just accidently reported this instead of replying... duh!

First name that came to mind for me was Oscar.
Other choices:
Ethan
Bradon
Puck
Luke
Liam
Aiden
Mick
Charlie

A very cute kid indeed!

Good luck naming your kid.

Despite my suggestion for Samuel/Samson (something in the souls of his eyes calls that to me), your son may be on the right track...little ones usually have a heightened psychic sense about them

(or he just watched a cartoon with a hero named sam!)

Hmmm....Scott Lucas? Your last name wouldn't happen to start with 'R'?
Just think of those initals.........

Just try and remember cute names can get a kid beaten up some day :-)
I personally like The Hulk.

Or just anything beginning with "The".

So, to re-cap, [something] Scott Lucas?
George Scott
George S. Lucas
George Lucas
GSL
....hrmmmm, not bad.

=)

On a serious note, I like Damien and Xavier the best out of your list. I feel they are the most unique and strong sounding.

Jules Lucas .... I like it.

Never heard it until I worked for a music management company and one of the singer/songwriters name was Jules, Jules Shear. He's a very cool, mellow guy. I've loved that name ever since, but it was veto'd by my husband for our boys. Not much of a "southern" name apparently. ;-)

I like Scott. My middle name.

Cameron is cool too, my first name.

Its certainly a tough decision.....have fun !
