When we named our son we wanted something original but not weird, you know so there wouldn't be 5 of them in the class but also something that wouldn't cause teasing. When I went to school for grade one there was a boy I liked to play with, his name was Davin. I liked the name, so we looked up the meaning. It's apparently Welsh for David ( a family name) and it also means Brightness Of The Finns ( my husband is Finnish). It seemed perfect. He's 9 now and has never been teased for his name, we've only just recently come accross another Davin and he's very out going, artistic and well liked by children and adults. I really think that names do influence a person. Choose wisely. Oh and remember to enjoy your beautiful boy whatever you call him. ( he really is lovely ).

Not LEMmy, then ? |
Doesn't quite look like that!
As you can see!

He really does look like an Andrew as someone else mentioned. I was doing to name my first son Andrew but had 2 girls so my second born is Andrea. Wanted to call her Andi but she won't let me.

David is a good name.
Also, something like Rock would be cool heh.

Sir
Now there's a name that would demand respect.
His friends and teachers would all call him Sir.
He would be introduced formally as "Sir Lucas"
Or more traditionally, the name "George" will get him some great reservations for dinner. Table for "George Lucas, party of four..."

Seriously though - this has been fascinating, not least because there have been at least six repetitions among our own shortlist. A few of our names do connect with family, etc. but I love loads of the suggestions here.
Incidentally, in the meantime we've been making do calling him bubba, cheeky chops, etc.
: )
Thanks for all the kind comments too - I'll be back to you! |
so what happens now? are you going to stick with luther? what names have we repeated that have been on your list?
inquiring minds need to know!

Well, we had the same boy's name picked out when we had both our girls, and we won't be having anymore kids, so I guess I'll let you use it now:

Most women my age will remember a character from the Superfudge book series by Judy Blume... and agree that a cool name would be Farley Drexel Lucas. :)

Didn't read the whole post, just don't tag a junior on to the name, I'm a credit manager for a large National Bank, same name junior/senior credit files always get messed up, real hard to clean up........ |
