Oops...apparently my photo doesn't meet the challenge. I interpreted "Light on White" to mean an actual light shining on or behind something white.

But, whatever...

Doh!!! Well, I just learned a valuable lesson. I was off on the deadline by a time zone. *sniff* I didn't get it turned in. I'll see you next challenge. Good luck!!

My interpretation of light on white is something light on top of something lighter. I'm seeing a lot of two things so far: Washed Out pictures, that is pictures that are either obviously exposed incorrectly and there are parts of the picture that are headachingly white; or high contrast pictures - dark on white.

I never even really thought of it any other way - I'll consider that on my votes. :-)

If that can only be true John! It's only been 45 minutes since voting began. Tuesday is a long waaaays away :( I'll give this another 45 minutes or 5-10 votes and I'll be clawing my way back up again :)

When everyone else is doing it wrong but you, do you ever concider the possibility that they might all be right and you might be wrong? Of course I grew up in a democracy so my perspecitve may be skewed.

For those who may have gotten confused here is the description again, just so we are on the same page voting wise, as if that is possible. LOL

"Take a photo in which the background is white and the subject is predominately a "light" color. Be mindful of over-exposing your highlights!"

I think zeppelin might be right in this case or at least he has a good case. Check the challenge description. I agree, there are a lot of blown out highlights and washed out photos.

Haha, last minute entries. Gotta love them. I had taken pride in never scoring below a 5, but that is possibly coming to an end...

My shot just went from 4.7 to 6.3 in seven votes. It's early yet.

Rikki can I guess which shot is yours? If I'm right it sure is worthy.
10/26/2005 01:16:25 AM · #24
will say I am seeing alot of HighKey exposursures and alot of B&W shots which look to be hiding colors in grey scale. Wonderful shots all in all but alot not in the spirit of the challange. to me if it is light on white it should be color...yes b&w can show LonW but it can also be faking it....

No...the brown is mine!!! I entered what my thoughts are about the recent threads....we've got have a little more fun around here...LOl
