I have been in the top ten eight times.
average = 7.0225
Ten highest rated average = 6.9441

Adding the scores and dividing by ten is the easiest way to calculate the average, but it will produce a somewhat skewed result sunce some scores may be based on anything from 100-300 votes. It's probably close enough for whatever plan is afoot here, but it seems important that at least everyone calculate it the same way.
I mean, what if I averaged the ten photos listed on the top of the page? (HINT: A worse result, that's what!) |

They don't have to have scored in the top ten of the challenge. What is being asked for is the average score of YOUR top ten highest scoring images wherever they finished.
John will correct me if I'm wrong.

My 10 highest scores average is currently 6.4878, will probably be over 6.5 after Off Center.

I´m just over 6.3...shooot, well I´m doing ok at these challenges we r woting on now...so hopefully I´ll reach the 6.5 barrier someday...

unfortunately, as i read this thread, i got confused--at first i thought john meant the scores of pics that placed in the top ten--then i wondered if he really just meant overall top 10. soooo, i had to break out the blasted calculator anyway... i came up with 6.7602 for my pics that placed in the top 10, and 6.7636 for my overall top 10. interesting averages, if i did it right!
so what's up, homeslice?

Altho I'm not totally sure these are my top 10, I might have missed out a higher score while skimming my profile, but my average would still be over 6.5.

Oh great, another way to make some of us feel inadequate ;)......ROFL Gonna go start my own thread, "Bottom 10 Photos Average under 3.5". Gonna go form me a defeatist club. Obviously I was kidding in my earlier post but on a more serious note, are you trying to build a case for having a tiered system here? Or creating different skill levels? Personally I think that it is a great idea. Good luck!!

If I were you I'd calculate it! John wants your average and just becuz you won 9 RIBBONS!!!!! doesn't garanty you anything!

I think I misunderstood the question.
My ave of my photos that finshed in the top ten (4 of them) is 6.878.
My ave of my best 10 finsishes (10 of them) is 6.458.
I'm kinda slow sometimes. lol
