How about an “invitation only” contest to the top 3 photographers from each country. It would be like the World Cup of DP Challenge. Each year the invitation would go out to the top three photographers, for each country, based on the average of say their top ten entries for that year. The winning country could be based on either the highest score of the three or a combined score of the three. The winning country would then have bragging rights for one full year.

What do you think?

I'd be interested in this, but I think the winning team should get free memberships for the next year. Should be something to win, other than braggin' rights.

Or you could get a little olympic medal next to your name.

...And a free memborship. With out a good reward there is not much incentive.

Of course, nothing can be done with this suggestion until the rest of the world officially recognises DPCNation. This country is still in the process of being set up.

Any questions should be aimed towards.../officially deleted under secrecy act/

Right, 'cause the free ribbons we give out aren't an incentive. :)

I think it would be neat to vote on so few, all high-quality images in a challenge like this. The only problem I see is that if some entries are are of a recognizeable style, peoples votes may be swayed toward their countrymen/women.

The worst part is that Yankees outnumber everyone else. I'll never forget the Olympic women's hockey final in Salt Lake City, where the US refs were in on an obvious fix. I've never screamed at the TV so much. Luckily the Canadian women outskilled the US by such a huge margin that the fix didn't work.

"Referee Stacey Livingston was particularly generous to the U.S. side, supplying it with 15:52 of power-play time to Canada's 6:00. It would be hard to say the Americans didn't have an opportunity to win the match." Rich Libero, NHL.com

If I won't pay for my own memborship, then why would I pay for someone else's?

Like that doesn't happen already?

So, where is this Canada place anyway? We drove up and down that LA Canada freeway near Pasadena several times and never did find the place. Personally, I think it's a myth; one of them urban legend things. Must be, cause nobody would be dorky enough to walk around saying "eh?" all the time. "You know eh, like where's Canada, eh? Got a beer, eh?"
