HI.
I was wondering where you guys buy the accessories, like remote control, lenses, etc. for your Dimage 7i. I've looked and cant find anything. Help will be appreciated!

If you go to //www.dimage.minolta.com and select "system expandability", then "Flash units & System Accessories" it will bring you to the next page. Click on "System Expandability" at the bottom. This will bring up a chart that shows a bunch of accessories. In the upper right-hand corner are two links:

//www.minolta.com/cameras/camera_mh/slr/acc/index.html
//www.minolta.com/cameras/camera_mh/slr/acc/index.html

you might be able to find something there.

Also: have you tried pricegrabber.com ?

I have a DiMage 7, which uses most of the same accessories. Which accesory are you looking for? I might be able to suggest places to try (or to avoid).

I've bought all my filters off ebay the 7i requires a 49mm filter. I got a remote from Ritz Camera.

Ah-ha.

I think I've finally found something! Go to //shop.minoltausa.com/
In the left-hand column is a box called "Browse Categories". Mouse over the "DiMAGE Digital Accessories" for a whole list of Accessory links.

Check out //webpages.charter.net/bbiggers/DCExperiments/html/body_dimage_7_.html . I have posted info about filters there, and many others have posted info on all accessories.

Regards,

Pete

Have circular polarising filter.

Don't know if the cable release from my regular film SLR (also Minolta) is compatible or not actually.

I chatted with a photographer last night who just came back from an African safari. She told me that the animals were close enough that she didn't have to use her teleconverter on her Dimage 7. Teleconverter? I want a teleconverter! Anybody know anything about this? I just finished a Web site design for a friend and the check is in the mail and already it's burning a hole in my pocket! Hey, it's either camera equipment or Godiva chocolates. :)

Kavey, I also have a Minolta film SLR and YES! The release cable is compatible! I was so amazed since my film camera is about 10 years old.

Thank you guys.

I have no idea what a teleconverter is, never heard of it in my life. Maybe she meant telephoto...which makes sense, if the animals were so close she didnt have to move the lense to the telephoto position, she could have kept it at wide angle.

Thanks Chiqui, actually, there is such a thing as a teleconverter that attaches to the telephoto lens that will multiply the distance photo length. I actually found some at B&H Photo and I have asked their staff a question about which will work with the Dimage 7i. When I find out, I'll post it here. The one the photographer in the park had increased her focal length to 400mm.

Hello All.

I am new to the site and am using a Dimage 7i.

The best teleconverters have been mentioned. I would like to suggest a best diopter (close up) lens. The 49mm Hoya +5 multicoated 2-element close-up lens.

When I want to buy new equipment, I use www.bizrate.com to search for best price.
