I don't know about any of you but I think I'm hooked. Bad. Like needing counseling:( I'v had dreams of challenge ideas ect.

It started last night with me driving a VW bug...there's the first clue this was a nightmare:) I'm at a redlight in a BAD part of town. Motorcycle cop goes to stop at the light and it rolls over slides down the street. So I grab my cell to call for help and get out. He gets up and wanders to the firestation like 3 buildings down.

BUT ! Since that wasn't a good photo op...The photo God is on my side !

I see fire trucks in front of a building. I rush over and get pics. GREAT pics. I head back to my car and want to look at them as I walk. My camera seems broken and won't show them. I somehow lost them! Not to mention I am surrounded by drunk mean gang members.

Sigh...I just want a photo this week. And don't you dare lie and say you haven't had a dream. If you all do...I will swear this post was a joke :P

You are to funny shiiizzzam. I am shooting my picture tomorrow. I skipped the front page of a newspaper idea and am aiming towards a magazine idea.

We had an "event" here this week and I got some wonderful shots. Aiming for top 15.

Just before I woke up this morning, I was dreamin' my shutter release button was stuck. I tried and tried and became frantic. THANK GOD, I woke up and realized it was a dream! Whew!!!
Earlier in the week, I kept waking up all night with ideas for pictures. I knew that if I GOT up and wrote them, I'd have an even harder time getting back to sleep, so I didn't. When I did get up at last, I forgot all my ideas.

I keep a record of the dreams I remember.. Many of them would make really cool kids books cuz they're normally off the wall and crazy. The kind of things kids would think up. Maybe that'll be my hobby... write and illustrate kids' books

Better than illustrating, you could take a picture for each one. Think of it as a personal challenge on each page. ;)

How could I take a picture of a floating car and a chocolate canyon?

Have you ladies tried a nice cup of hot chocolate
(Jamaican rum optional) before bedtime. Brings sweet dreams.

These are humourous dreams... No need to change them!!

chocolate at night leads to big thighs. :P

I've seen some pretty elaborate sets on this site, I'm sure you could manage something.

Sounds like a good incentive to work on PrintShop skills :)

LOL I am completely new to DPChallenge, and find not only do I dream, but I have to keep checking back to see how my 'baby' (first entry) is doing! What a wonderful site this is! But could become an addiction!

Welcome to the club.
My name is Paul and I'm a dpc-aholic.
God help us when score updates are available on demand rather than just every hour!

The only dpc dreams I can remember are every Monday morning, dreaming that my last entry has suddenly shot up on the last night and my latest effort has set off on a nice high score.
Reality doesn't seem to discourage me though.

Years ago I used to do the same thing. As it is I have a very difficult time shutting down my brain, and thus I sleep very lightly. So what I find I must do is push ideas out of my mind and try to sleep.
Big Smiles, I understand exactly what you're saying, there are some really cool ideas coming from dreams. But be careful about training your brain to awaken, when it should be going from dream state to Alpha Delta state. The latter is the state at which your brain rejuvenates and helps balance chemistry you need to block pain, and immunity. I struggle with it regularly, and am paying a price. DEEP sleep is very, very important.
Sorry to give unsolicited advice, I don't usually, but I know from experience.

LadyLin...It not only "could become an addiction," It IS absolutely addictive. Relatively harmless though...lol So far...lol

Hahahahahahahaha. Hahhahahahahaha. Hahhaahahah. Me too, shiz.

My name is Karma, and I have been a dpc addict since April.

<Karmat blushes> Fortunately my husband decided, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." And the rest of my family is always asking, "what's the challenge this week?" or "How's your score?"

11/23/2002 02:57:45 AM · #20
I must admit, I too am hooked. I am currently in cold turkey as my family has taken my camera to Malaysia with them so I can't participate in any challenges at the moment, in any case I am extremely busy with various other activities, I am looking forward to my holidays in December when I go to Cape Town for 6 weeks - luckly I will have a computer there to stay connected to DPC!

Do any of you make stupid mistakes like me? Sending in the wrong picture. I am kicking myself and its not just once that I have done it. When will I ever learn? Anyway, I am looking forward to the new DPC, maybe I can start afresh!

Last week was one of those for me. My problem was that I submitted a photo I thought others would like. I will never do that again. This week I had two shots to choose between, so I asked some colleagues at my school where I´m a teacher to help me out. 5 out of 8 picked the same one as I had done in my mind. And it´s doing rather well - round 6.
Whatever people say about taking photos for your own sake, for me it´s important to take shots for my own sake AND for others AND that score well. So I can feel your pain.

I don't recall ever dreaming about cameras and shooting. Then I saw this thread yesterday. So last night I ended up dreaming about my camera and my attempt to take a picture with it. It was the old "the flash didn't fire" trick.

Hmph. Maybe I'm just suggestible.

I wonder how long my addiction will last? I've been thinking about dp challenges all week, every week since I joined - not long ago. This is interfering with my work. We need DPC Anonymous. Not only are the photos & challenges educational but the forums are hilarious (e.g., 'Something odd about a comment').

All of you that are having dreams and nightmares about your cameras, I have to ask, heheheehehe, Do you name your camera's? Sorry, I love my camera and enjoy photography, but if it isnt 5'5" with a hour glass figure and blond hair singing "Oooops, I did it again" than I am not dreaming about it...

=)
