What was I thinking) to take some shots to put in her portfolio. she came up with 7 photos she chose to post. all photos have only had auto levels, contrast, colrs and a round of sharpening.would you please go give her some comments and help her become a great photographer. please keep in mind she is new to the photography world and is young.

She WILL beat you one day you know that right?... just thought Ide let you know. The young will rule the world one day and there aint a thing we can do about it. I had a look at her shots and for a 9 year old she's doing a great job. Must be nice to grow up with PC's and digital cameras as the norm.. when I was 9 they hadnt even invented a video recorder yet, or a TV game. I had a very old Italian 120 film camera with a fixed no zoom lens and never saw any of the pics i took because i dont think anyone put film in it when it was my turn to use it.. anyway, please tell her from me to keep shooting that is the way to improve, shoot shoot shoot. Also if you can afford it one day you should get her a little camera of her very own for 2 reasons.. 1-she will enjoy using her own camera simply because it is HERS... 2-when she gets bitten by the camera bug you may never see your minolta again....

All the best.

Thanks and i will tell her. actually she will probably be on here tomorrow (if she can run me off dpc..heehee)I know she will beat me in at least a bunch of challenges and i will be so tickled for her. i think she has a good eye and i want to nurture her creative side while getting her photographic eye in shape. I am a strict believer that people learn better if they continue to have fun while learning. I love that she want to do this with me even if her goal is to beat me in the challenges :o) I plan on getting a cheap DSLR with tax returns if everything goes right and i will then pass on to her my minolta. shes as excited for tax time as i am! also...shes already gotten bit by the bug (about a year ago)and is all in an uproar for ideas for her first members challenge.

edit to fix all the dang typos....i really need a spellcheck in the worst way!

thanks for all the great comments...keep em commin'

shes like a sponge ya'll and wants to know it all.I tried helping her with the focus of her friend michael jumping a ramp with his bike(in the middle of cooking dinner so i couldnt stay out but a minute) but by that time he was tired from riding around the building and ramping...bless his heart. maybe he will come back up today for another shot for jessi. where the minolta has such a bad sutter lag its real hard to catch just what you want while its moving. she kept either getting the front tire or the back. I know what a hard time it is because i bet i took close to 400 shots of my apple challenge entry splashing in the water!
