I'm working on a small side-feature for the new DPChallenge where it'll rotate random quotes about the site. I know I've seen some really positive great jobs and thank yous on the site over the last ten months or so, but I know I'll never find my favorites...

So, as conceited as this sounds...

Tell us what you like about DPChallenge!

DPChallenge has taught me how to integrate art and technical excellence into my photography. It has also broadened my own interpretations of what good photography really is.

DPChallenge is great in that I have the opportunity to showcase my creativity and get feed back on it, allowing me to grow as much as possible as a hobbyist photographer.

The weekly challenges keeps me looking at the world around me in new and different ways trying to find something for the next challenge. You notice things you would normally overlook or ignore outright. DPC can help you see what you've never seen before.

I love this community. Compared to so many I have visited it is a stable, mature, helpful and interesting group of people who love what they are doing and enjoy sharing and learning.

For me the best part is seeing great photo's week after week so that my judgement in what makes a great photo has really grown. I don't think judgment can be taught, it must be learned through experience.

And this goes double for my appreciation of what it take to MAKE a great picture, not just capture it.

The challenges themselves are never boreing so there is always a reason to come back. D&L you deserve all the kudoes you can get.

Although new here, I have always enjoyed theme shooting. DP allows individuals to shoot seperately for a common goal ( theme ). The benefit of this is seeing each others work and how someone else thinks and approaches the shoot. It really opens your eyes and minds seeing what other people can do under the same theme constraint. Really allows you to "think outside the box" to coin a phrase.

Although we look at the world through a view finder, DPChallenge allows us to broaden our view to see our subjects from a new angle. And sometimes, it's a challenge.

I would be hard-pressed to come up with any single class or even job experience that has served as such a great learning tool for photography as DP Challenge has been. Not only can I have an assignment reviewed by hundreds of people each week, but I have found that people who participate in the forums are an incredible resource for any photography-related question that comes up.

Although I just joined dpchallenge recently, I can see that I will learn a lot - both the artistic and the technical. Having weekly challenges on topics forces me to think creatively and frequently about many aspects of photography - it's like taking a course. I suspect my photos will improve greatly over time with this experience.

DPChallenge has gotten me out of my rut of shooting the same things over and over. It has expanded the subjects I photograph, and has gotten me to try new things. I have learned so much from the community here.

Dpchallenge will keep any photographer on their toes, challenging each member with a new topic each week. It is an incredible resource for learning and sharing with other photographers from all over the world.

DPC has taught (is teaching!) me to get a grasp on the camera as a medium; Through learning the technical processes and getting instant universal feedback, I am learning to shape the visions that exist in my mind into reality.

DPC has helped me find that photography is my true passion.
Through DPC I try new techniques and continue to improve my skills every week.
I have met great people here, and have learned a lot in the 4 months that I have been here.

Before DPChallenge, I just took snapshots and called them art. This site, and this community, has helped me improve immensely. The weekly challenges, and helpful advice from other members, has helped me look at photography on a whole new level.

DPChallenge has turned me from a no talent point and shoot hack into a no talent consider carefully and shoot hack. And that has made a world of difference in the quality of my shots.

I want to thank this web site for making it fun to learn how to compose and edit photographs. I look forward to each week's challenge and the other submissions. Most of all, I thank this web site for making me a "better" photographer and providing me with the almost immediate feed back I get from other site participants. Keep up the wonderful work folks!

DPC - has pushed me as I have gotten more involved in digital photography, and reinvolved in photography in general.
-- Has reminded me of the difference between photos and snapshots
-- Has challenged me to try things I hadn't tried before.
-- Has made me more critical of my own photos
-- Has exposed me to other photographers with superb skills
-- Has increased my passion
-- Has filled some voids in my life
-- Has made me a better photographer
-- Has reminded me that learning and improvement are journeys, not a destination.

DPC has encouraged me to take pictures that I would never normally take. It is teaching me to see the beauty and interest in everyday objects, the lines, contours, and colours of everything can have impact, if represented well. Not only do I think about the challenge in hand each week, but has provided a springboard for other ideas too. This site helps you to learn to see not only through your eyes, but through other peoples as well. Thanks for the community.

Everyone has stated the obvious regarding how DPC pushes you as a photographer - no matter what your skill level. From a Web site perspective, this is one of the best sites I have see/used. It's extremely functional, has an intelligent voting system, easy to use and visual well designed. And, probably most important, creates a true sense of online community; it's engaging, it makes you want to participate and grow your skills. Hats off to the developers!

As a Web Designer and content manager I find this site is one of the best sites I have used. It's designers and moderators, help to create a true sense of a worldwide online community; it's addictive, it makes you think and and want to improve your skills, it develops your photographic eye, now everything is viewed as a possible shot! Congratulations to all involved!
