How long does it usually take between paying for membership and having your status change from 'registered user' to 'member' ?

I paid yesterday, but my status hasn't changed. I just want to make sure the Paypal payment got through okay. I've tried the contact form and emailing this question. So if anyone knows what the usual wait time is it'd put my mind at rest!

Thanks.

if you paid through your bank account it will take about a week, if you did it through a credit card it should be almost instantaneous.

I paid using credit card (via paypal) - And I received the receipt. And I immediately got 'member' status. BUT, when I logged out and back in again I was back to 'registered user' status.

I'd better wait until one of the admins gets my messages or reads this.

Thanks for the reply.

I'd suggest giving it 24 to 48hrs.

If you paid via PayPal and a credit card the membership should be immediate. Since you emailed the admins already, you should get a response fairly soon (of course, they're probably still sleeping now).

I have had the same problem today - paid through PayPal, received member status but now back to "registered user"status! Every other time I buy software or register at a site it is instantaneous but not this one...

Ah, so I'm not going insane then! It's probably a site bug or something. I registered 24 hours ago. But as Terry said, the admins might still be asleep. I'm sure they'll sort it out once they see the messages.

By the way, if you're trying to email the admins help@dpchallenge.com is bouncing back. billing@dpchallenge.com seems to work.

I also sent a PM to langdon

It's been 2 days now. Does anyone have any other email addresses I can try? - Is there a support email address for the site?

Did you try the Contact form under the Help menu? Also, have you checked your junk mail folder to make sure your email provider is not blocking mail from DPChallenge as spam?

So far I've tried;

- The contact form under the help menu
- PM to langdon
- email to billing@dpchallenge.com (help@dpchallenge.com bounces)
- I've just gone through my spam folder to make sure there was nothing from dpc in there

That's why I was wondering if there are any other email addresses or PMs I can try. Or should I just be patient? :-)

They could be away for the weekend. Perhaps they only check their email during weekdays like most normal people (unlike me who has to be within 100 yards of an internet connection at all times...)

I think that is best most businesses are closed for the weekends and this is basically a business. Although I agree with paypoal it should have been instant.

I thought I was the only one.

Drew is on his honeymoon, I know that. Not sure about Langdon.

I think there's some sort of bug there. It *was* instant; as soon as the paypal payment went through I turned into a 'member'. But when I logged out and back in again I reverted back to 'registered user'.

Probably something to do with cookies, or sessions, or ...

And as for honeymoon? - That's NO excuse!! :-)

...and they live in the south. You know what they say about southern service - not the fastest

I know that there has been some back-end work in progress on the database. I don't think this should have affected the live data, but you never know.

In any case, I've sent an IM directly to Langdon with a pointer to this thread.

Everyone is blue now! :)

Terry was correct, PayPal tried to contact us during some down time and we failed to process the upgrades.
