Greetings all,
Just wondering now that Imagevortex.com has been live for a month or so now, what type of experiences folks are having with them, i.e. customer service wise, sales, acceptance / rejection of images.umber of views per photo, payment smoothness (or lack of) etc. I have only about a dozen images with them, but like what I've seen so far, although at times they're response time does seem a bit slow (in the 24 -72 hr range) other times its great....

2 submitted images = 2 images accepted at ImageVortex. Both images are first stocks shot with the *ist DS. 5 views on 1 and 11 views on the other.

My microsite stocks are doing pretty well recently with images from the 2-3 megapixel cameras.

I don't have people pictures so I don't get the consistent downloads that some of the top photographers get. Maybe I should start submitting vectors or something.

I've just started uploading to them. I have submitted around 8, and only had 4 accepted. The first message they sent was a bit cryptic, but the last one seemed to imply that they were simply not the type of images they sell.

I like the fact that you can set a fair price. With the microstock sites, I was uploading shots I would never sell as photos. But with imagevortex, you can just set the price high enough and it's as good or better than a photo sale. In fact, I decided to pull most (well I only had a few up there) of the shots off of iStock and DreamsTime and put them on imageVortex instead. I may likewise pull out of shutterstock. Though now that I think about it, they rejected one of the shots that was selling well on the microstock sites! So maybe I need to put that one back ;)

I was impressed how quickly they approve, but for some reason, they don't show you the keywords they selected unless you go and try to find the shots as a user. And I don't think they picked the keywords well, because I didn't find mine by searching the keywords I would have expected.

And I haven't had ANY views yet. So I wonder too how many customers they have!

16 of 17 accepted, not a lot of traffic, no sales yet.

I'll tell ya this, their screening process is slow and then once it's accepted it moves on to the keyword person and hangs out there awhile, and finally makes it to the pool.

ED: Grammar of course...

Hmm, I have a total of 13 images with them, ranging from 17 to 0 views with 72 total and have been with them since they started, not bad traffic for a startup, IMHO.

I agree, I often wish they're rejection letters could be a bit more specific.

I agree, the range of what 30 - 300 a shot is awesome, although all of mine at at $75 right now, just dropped them from $100. I would love to knwo what the average price per shot is on there, from what I gathered it is in the 50-125$ range but I dont have any hard info to back that up with....

great acceptance rate, mine is about 13 out of say 35 or so :( but hey, i'm new at all this and just starting to get a feel for what stock is about, I hope, lol how many views are ya getting??

Overall I must say they still are impressing me, especially with the ability for clients to request specific images they dont have form photogs via email, but then again, I have yet to see an email requesting images, so I wonder how many clients they have....

Lets keep this thread active from time to time as a way for us ImageVortex users to keep up with each other, I just added it to my watched threads...

OK gang, coming up on 3 months quick, still no sales, anyone have any sales with these folks yet? I've noticed the traffic seems to be picking up a little bit in terms of views, anyone else have any observations??

half of them have 10 or more views, with the most being 28 on one of them (a wild rabbit of all things)

I have 12 pics up and no sales yet. Looks like 16 views is my highest.

Just started uploading with them myself about 2weeks ago. Uploaded about 18images. Had 6 accepted. Seems like the ones that weren't accepted were due to not being the type of images their customers would buy. No sales yet, but only two weeks in.

After being with them since before they even went live, and hundreds of views, but no sales I finally yanked all my stuff off them today, enough is enough! They seem to be gettin a lot of tire kickers but no sales whatsoever, nor requests via theyre request network (never even saw one) Somethin' just doesnt seem right over there....

Ditto... I did the same. With them from the start, put the good stuff up there a lot of views no takers... pulled my stuff.

pulled my 200 shots about a month ago

I've still not sold one there. Has anyone? It seems like an ideal licensing price model for sellers. Buyers don't seem to exist though!

Still no sales on mine either. 17 accepted. Over 100 views total. I just sent them an email suggestion that maybe if they put on a "stat" section so that photographers could see what is selling (or at least to show us that not everyone is a "tire kicker") that it might boost morale. I know some of the other sites have that - where you can see what are the most popular downloads or recent downloads etc.

Here is the response from Image Vortex in regards to my previous post:

Hi Katherine,

We are looking into adding these statistics as a part of our ongoing
photographer area updates. While it's not yet live, I might tell that
most
of our sales are ranging from $50 to $100 range, and it's not rare that
people are hitting $100 threshold with their first sale - in
particular,
that led us to speed up development of an online payment request and
tracking system that has been put into service a few days ago, and have
already assisted us in handling some PayPal payments.

As a general consideration, please note that we are live on sales for
just
over 6 months, as compared to most of our competitors who are selling
for
more than 4 years, and had a significant amount of time to build up.
Besides, we are often wrongly compared with micropayment websites -
yes,
sales on microstocks are coming in faster, but a photographer only
makes a
dollar or often even less from every sale, while on ImageVortex it's
possible to close only three sales and get about $200 in less than 2
months
- that's a real example of one of our members, and we are just starting
up.

I hope it clears the confusion a bit - stay tuned for more news, we
will
bring up the statistics too.

Best regards,
Artyom Kamshilin

I actually sold my first photo there the other day, but I've been with them since the beginning. $21 now just have to make $79 more to get my money!
