Wow, I wonder if this is the site's longest-running thread? Anyway, here's my idea:

Car Names without Cars:
Use an automobile name for inspiration. Include the name in your caption.

Lets have some fun . . how about

Unlikely Adverts

A chance to capture a thought or feeling in an advert that 'just isn't going to appear in a magazine or on a billboard' but maybe should . . ..
Whether serious, poignant or humorous.

Text allowed on the image to give the message.

Hey all,

As you may know, one of the things we'd like to do in the near future is run some additional challenges. One idea that we had talked about a while ago was running an additional unlimited editing challenge once per month.

The problem is, we're short on usable challenge topics. This is where you come in. If you have an idea, please post it here. If you have posted an idea previously and it has not been used, you are encouraged to post it again. All I ask is that you follow the guidelines below:

- Include both a challenge title and description as you would expect them to appear on the challenge details page.

- Please refrain from posting ideas that would require coding changes to the site. Ideas for things such as bracket tournaments, challenges without titles, challenges with extra text fields, etc, should not be posted here. It's not that these ideas are unwelcome, it's just that I don't want discussion of logistics to take over the thread. If you have ideas that would require a coding change, please start your own thread for them.

Thank you!

-Terry

I think any challenge that has been done before with a new ruleset makes it a new challenge. But I'd like to see the ruleset in the challenge name: Candy-Adv, Candy-Min, Candy-Exp, etc... then it becomes more clear what is going on -- and gives them unique names. The second would be Candy-Adv II (not Candy II-Adv), etc..

Since we managed to use that splendid word Dichotomy I propose :-

Ubiquitous meaning something that is 'everywhere - all at once' and can almost be overlooked as it is so common

Your tax dollars at work

This could be serious (road construction, bridge repair) or it could be tongue in cheek (a bunch of construction men standing around doing nothing).

Over at Worth1000 they occasionally have an illustration contest where the objective is to do the best illustration possible with the lousiest tool possible: The MS Paint program included with windows.

How about something similar with photography: Use one of those cheap $20 digital cameras meant for kids. (The kind that often has Spiderman or X-men cartoons on it) Or, a basic camera-phone of similar resolution.

It might really be a test of skill both with the camera and with the computer side processing.

How about this for a challenge . .

Brown Ribbon Deja Vu The same as normal Deja Vu, but with an additional twist - Never mind finding a ribbon winner and trying to reproduce it - find a brown ribbon winner, and turn it into a genuine winner !! Turn it into what the person was (presumably) hoping for.

This does not include disqualified photo's, or your own Brown ribobns.

I like this idea Steve. Howz bout posting it in it's own thread on the challenge suggestion forum. And maybe add, try to make it a blue ribbon winner while keeping the basic idea intact. After the last Deja Vu challenge I really don't like the idea of making something exactly like. Very good idea Steve.
