String: String, thread, twine, yarn. Compose an interesting photograph using one or more of above mentioned suggestions as the focal point of your entry.

Grain: grains of sand, film grain, edible grains... etc you get the idea. Use Grain in some form to create an interesting photo.

Painted Black: Like the Rolling Stones tune. The majority of the image should be dark or black, yet still result in an interesting photo.

Sound: Create a photo that conveys sound to the viewer.

Salvador Dali: Create an image in the spirit of this fine artist. For those that don't know him SD on Wikipedia - Expert Editing

how about doing Scars? So often we look for physical perfection in photo's - this is showing physical reality.

Scars - show a scar as an integral part of the whole picture rather than as a blemish or deformity.

Bars Architecture challenge - every country has it's own place where you go to drink and wind down at the end of a day, American Bars, British Pubs, show the world where you drink, or would like to :-)

Clubs Exclusive clubs, working mens clubs, kiddies clubs, capture the essence of the club.

Exclusive show something that shouts exclusive/expensive.

Here are some - forgive me if they've already been suggested:

Cars & Trucks Photograph the automobile of your choice from your favorite angle. It could be the emblem, interior, wheel wells, front, back, side, rear, or the whole thing - you decide.

Women Love 'em or hate 'em, they're everywhere. Photograph what a woman means to you.

Men Love 'em or hate 'em, they're everywhere. Photograph what a man means to you.

Word Create a photographic representation of a single word and use that word as your title.

Feeling Create a photographic representation of a feeling or emotion and make that your title.

Music Music is everywhere. Show us what music means to you. It could be a musical instrument, a song bird, or the wind - you show us.

Eyes They say that eyes are the window to the soul. Photograph an eye (or eyes) - human, animal, bird, symbol, etc.

Senses We have five senses - sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. Show us your photographic "sense".

Composite Create a composite of at least 2 separate photographs. Be as creative as you'd like. This challenge will obviously run under the Expert Rule set.

Seasons Winter, Summer, Spring, & Autumn. Pick a season and show us what it means to you.

Self portrait / Cross dressing.
In the recent battle of the sexes challenge I did this and had a comment from someone saying they thought this would be a fun challenge, I agree. I remember some other shots of members cross dressing, for one memorable image check out Larus in a dress and lipstick.

Take inspiration from the 18th and 19th century Romantic movements and combine nature and emotion to create a 21st century romantic masterpiece.

I LIKE this suggestion, re Feather, Fur, Scales, but also add Skin or Hide, example - Elephant.....

What about a challenge where everybody has to simultaneously press the shutter at a certain time? You'd be able to hear the click from the moon! lol

Male : photograph all things male
Female: photograph all things female

Groups of people: there must be three or more people visible in the shot.

Relationships: Parent/child, Pet/Owner, Teacher/Student etc.

Creativity in action: photograph a creative process such as someone painting, performing, dancing etc

The Best Place In The World!: Take a photo of where you live that will make us all want to come visit. ( Like the postcards challenge )

Out of Proportion: Show people or things that are out of proportion. Could be Advanced or Basic

How about Oppositions?

Create an image that involves two opposites: ie: love/hate; sweet/sour; happy/sad.........

It would really encourage people to think out of the box, and use more than one image if they wanted. It could be fun.

Photograph anything related to the subject of tattoos.

Shape Take a photograph where the impact comes from the use of shape.

Texture Take a photograph where the impact comes from the use of texture

Triangles The triangle, in design, links three areas of a photograph and is commonly used for composition. Take a photograph which makes use of this compositional technique.

edit: My description for 'Triangles' doesn't read right but I hope you get the gist.
