Perhaps there isn't one...dually noted that some folks use their *actual* name for their choice. But there are some darn interesting ones, and downright confusing ones as I scan the 'who's online'...

I have a sun conure (parrot). His name is Tiki. Nothing further.

Interesting post!

I got my nickname when I was 16 at my first job. Instead of Danielson, from Karate Kid, I was stuck with Jaimeson....my manager's little grasshoppa.

you might be interested in this thread. it's got a lot of historical information (probably more than you wanted to know about all of us), including my own. :)

I do have photos of him...I'm pretty unschooled (that is so not a word) in how to post one in the forums. Is that reserved for members-only?

Great minds think alike? Or is it, curious minds are not always original? LOL Thanks for the link! I need some fun reading today.

Well for me, I got the nickname "Dub" from my friends and family b/c of my love of reggae music. When I was in high school, I had Bob Marley and reggae stickers all over my car, which my parents started calling the rasta mobile. Ever since then, I always used rasdub as my id for stuff like this :).

"Aemilius Lepidus was an army commander under Julius Caesar, and was a member of the second triumvirate that also included Octavian and Mark Antony. He is of little importance, though, and vanishes from the public eye by 36 Bc."

I played Lepidus in a production of Antony and Cleopatra. When looking for an email name, that hadn't been used, I started using Lepidus. Lepidus is hardly ever used. So, I made it my own.

HAHA I'm finding out now that 'unschooled' is not a word? Oh man, back to grammar I go! :-) You can post a pic, if you have one online elsewhere. You do have to be a member to post photos that reside on this site, and it's so worth the $25! But if you aren't, you can post a link to the photo you have online elsewhere.

Had a dream (dreams are very significant to me) years ago that I had a daughter. In the dream her name was Shecoya. When I woke up I wanted to remember it so I started an email account with the name. When and If I ever have a baby girl.. I'm hoping i'll be able to gift her with the name as it was gifted to me in my dream :)

Thanks Laurie and Strangeghost, as well for the links...I've already grinned mightily reading SDW65's 'alternate' explanation.

I rather love reading about these.
